I have to tell you this is an absolutely awesome show. Headliners this year are Max Aaron, Ashley Wagner, Rachael Flatt, Jeremy Abbott, Gilles& Poirier, Alexe Gilles, Emily Hughes, Emily Samuelson, Adam Rippon, and Christina Gao.

What helps to make this really special (besides the awesome headliners) are all the skaters of various ages and skill levels that raise money in order to participate in this show. It is just very touching watching the elite skaters help the little ones.

This will be the third year I've attended and I HIGHLY recommend it! Lots of parking available in nearby lots/garages and lots of restaurants in downtown Columbus.

Part 1 of our interview with Frank Carroll is launched on our new website, (www.theskatinglesson.com). Part 2 will be posted on Tuesday. In the mean time, we also have interviews with Alex Johnson and nutritionist Carrie Banner, interviews with each other on our bio pages, and a few blog posts as well.

Maia and Alex Shibutani will be Featured Guest Performers for this year's Ice Chips Show hosted by the Skating Club of Boston! April 13 and 14 at Harvard's Bright Arena.

Alex is known for being a die-hard fan of Boston sports teams. Whenever they are mentioned at the rink and club, the Shibs are pretty much adored by the skaters and coaches at SCOB. Beautiful skaters, positive attitudes, and overall just great kids. Will be fun to watch them perform along side their Team USA friends at the club, Ross Miner and Christina Gao.

I haven't been active on this forum (or any for that matter) for quite some time but I thought I'd pop in to let you all know about my new project: a figure skating blog. Now, I'll warn you all, I'm a PG 13 kind of person and this is a PG 13 kind of blog. I don't mince words nor will I be afraid to touch on "sensitive" topics. Most of the things you'll find will be editorials, interviews and features on skaters. I'm a big supporter of professional figure skating and I'm also not a big fan of the new judging system, so please bear that in mind. :p

So far I've had the chance to do some really cool interviews, including interviews with Tony Wheeler and Allison Manley (who are incredibly interesting people and very knowledgeable about the sport), as well as interview choreographer Garrett Kling (who's very involved in the YAS - Young Artists Showcase) and coach Ben Ferreira, who as we all know was a huge name in Canadian figure skating as Canadian medallist and world and competitor. I have a whole host of other interviews coming soon, as I am a FIRM believer that EVERYONE's perspective - from competitors to judges to skaters to coaches, choreographers and fans help us ALL gain different perspectives on this fabulous sport. I just read on IceNetwork.com that they are offering coverage of 4CC and Worlds at no extra charge to season pass subscribers. But the reason for the no extra charge apparently is that the coverage is offered after the fact.

2013 Four Continents will be up on IceNetwork on February 17, and the 2013 World championships will be up on March 24. Both available well after the results of the events are known. While I'm happy to be able to see the performances in their entirety, I wanna see them in real time for the first time, especially Worlds.

Why oh why do they always dis figure skating fans?

Is Universal Sports carrying live coverage of Worlds?

Random FYI that Disson Sports & Entertainment (as it is now known) has scheduled this show to take place in Sao Paolo (per January 15 press release).

Also: "The company will continue to produce its four nationally-televised, two-hour figure skating entertainment specials on NBC during the upcoming season, leading into the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi."

Hey guys,
I was just wondering why there are so few stops for SOI 2012-2013. Is it just too early for them to have listed all of them, or are they really only doing these few cities? Since Ilia's going to be in it, and Dorothy is making a return, and Kurt is saying goodbye after this, I really want to see it in Pittsburgh... So far, though, I only see like 5-6 shows for SOI...

This is what happens when, for the very first time, I had money for tickets a month before the stops were announced... If I had no money, I bet they'd be coming to Pittsburgh LOL.

The 10th and final tour of Celebration on Ice is visiting four cities in Ontario this week. The show features four Canadian world champions on the ice together for the first time - Kurt Browning, Elvis Stojko, Jeffrey Buttle, and Patrick Chan. Kurt's the choreographer, and he has choreographed a group number to "Some Nights" for the four of them. The show also features Joannie Rochette, Shawn Sawyer, Eric Radford & Meagan Duhamel, and Violetta Afanasieva & Pete Dack. Kurt's friend Geoffrey Tyler will be singing live during the finale.

Fans also have the opportunity to buy $20 tickets to "Skate with the Stars" before the Newmarket show (call 905 895-1700).

Till last month, I was unaware that there was a quick and easy way to give tax deductable donations to my favorite US skaters' skating programs. My donations, be they 5 bucks, 10 bucks or 100 bucks, are appreciated and go directly into
an account that pays for their coaches, rink time, etc. And I receive nice personal cards from the skaters, Signed Autographs, etc. The best part is forcing the Feral Government to help pay for
my skaters come tax time. :) The non profit organization that handles this is called the NEASF, but there is usally a link to this or a form directly on the skaters' official web sites. I know a few skaters casually and know from other fans too that many of of our skaters are not rich. Just a thought if you want a warm fuzzy feeling....it is better to light one candle than curse the darkness.

Hi, I'm new so I'm sorry if this is not the right place to put this, I tried!

I am a gymnastics fan and I really wanted to get into watching skating, and I've noticed online that some YouTube users have full competitions (is that what they're called? sorry lol), well they are broken down into the skaters for each video but if you play them in the playlist they seem to be the full thing, in English. The only problem is they are all before 2006, I can't find anything after.

So my question is are there any full length videos on YouTube in English that are after 2006? I've tried searching for but I can't find anything. Thanks in advance and I'm sorry if this is a waste of a thread!
