The 31st Annual Skate Detroit is in the books and there were certainly some memorable performances with the senior level skaters.

There's several Canadian competitions coming up which perhaps don't need their own thread but certainly should be mentioned.

Firstly, Minto Summer Skate August 2-5. The roster for the competition has been published, as well as the schedule.

Other competitions that should be posting their flight lists soon are:

1. Wild Rose in Leduc, Alberta, August 3-5. Cutoff date for registration was July 13th.

2. Prairie Skate in Moose Jaw, Sasikatchewan, August 10-12. Cutoff for registration is today.

3. Summer Sizzle in Waterloo, Ontario, August 10-12. Cutoff for registration was July 10th.

A friend who was there last night sent me this mini-report (she wasn't sure about which triples Lam did):

"Vanessa did a triple ?/loop combo. Great double axel, held the landing. I think her solo jump was triple flip (or toe)? Very deep edging in her footwork sequence, very stretched Biellmann.

Caroline landed a triple loop and a triple flip/double toe. She did a gorgeous spread eagle into Ian Bauer into a double axel. Of course her spins were amazing, though she didn't do the Pearl."

Does anyone have results so far? The only thing i know is Hannah Miller is first after the senior short. YES!

I thought I'd start a thread for Skate Detroit which runs the week of July 23rd. I am planning to go. I loved watching this club competition last year, it's so up close and personal! Anyway, post here when you hear of a skater that will be coming to this competition. It may be too early for many entries, but I'm hoping there will be some rising stars that come. Last year, Gracie Gold competed at Skate Detroit and blew everyone away.
