Just started a thread to ask a couple of questions.

Firstly, the LTV7 stream ended at 16:00 GMT sharp, so it cut off at the end of Javier's encore. So, what happened next? I am assuming Tatiana and Maxim had already gone back home straight after the FS for the funeral of Maxim's Dad.

Did the gala go straight into the finale after Javier?

For that matter, does anybody have any videos of the finale? The rest of the gala was that good, I would love to see the finale!

Also, at the start of the second half, there was a routine by a Croatian girl who was wearing what looked to me like Fred Flintstone's suit! Did anybody catch her name, as I was really impressed by her and would like to see more of her.

Can I also say, I love the way Brian and Florian always play to the crowd! That girl in the synchro team that Brian kissed is going to be telling that story for years! (And the auld doll that he also kissed will probably be doing the same!)

And as for Florian stripping after his gala routine, well, all the women in the audience were already going wild from the routine itself, but this just sent them through the roof!!!

Overall, probably the best gala I've seen this year.

DEU's decision to send Weinzierl was definitely the correct one. I don't think Hecken would have managed to place top 10, given how high the level of skating was.
ETA: Spain will be using the second ladies spot. :) As Hieloespanol has pointed out, Marta García has the required minimum scores and Elene Mangas has the SP score and is looking for the FS one.

Yep, I know I am very nitpicky (on triple twists in particular where the judges seem to be blind to numerous errors that usually happen :P). ;)

The GOE values listed next to the elements are the ones, I'd give if I was a judge. PCS would be even more fun to do but just no time to think about them given I have to type everything up.

The reports are based on a tv broadcast so certain things (like ice coverage, for example) I don't get as good a sense of as somebody watching live.

All I can think about now, I think. If in doubt, just ask. :)

Plushenko finished official practice ahead of time in Zagreb

ZAGREB, 23 January - R-sports, Andrey Simonenko. Olympic champion Evgeny Plushenko ahead of schedule left ice during official training in the figure skating European championship in Zagreb.

Plushenko who was repeatedly noting that an injury of a back disturbs him, with visible difficulties executed jumps during the official practice at Wednesday afternoon on a training skating rink. At the beginning of practice Plushenko fell extremely unsuccessfully from 3Lz+3T combo. The hollow in ice could become the reason of falling which happened during pushing away before the second jump, according to being present experts.

After incident the Olympic champion took some detours along a board then repeated the unfortunate combo. After that - 3A twice, one of them - in 3A+3T combo. Evgeny's only attempt at practice to make 4T was with step out. Plushenko's half-hour training finished 10 minutes before its termination.

Plushenko's coach Alexey Mishin refused to give official comments concerning a condition of the Olympic champion.

Two other Russian participants of the Euro training in the same group - Sergey Voronov and Maxim Kovtun - without problems executed difficult jumps. So, Kovtun made the 4T+3T combo, and also several times executed 3A.

Men's Short Program will be at Thursday.

Though, looking back at last year, I only got 6 out 12 medallist right, and 4 podium placements correct. Hope I fare better this year.

Reports from practices are not many right now cause a lot of skaters arrived later than scheduled due to snow and fog, so far I read Amodio was training in the afternoon, Brezina had an injury on his shoulder, no Fernandez , nor Joubert there.

Since I am one of very few skating fans from Zagreb, I decided to help out everybody coming to my hometown for this competition and keep everybody updated.

Just seen an ad on Eurosport for the African Cup of Nations, so I decided to check their schedules and it looks like they are not shown the Europeans. Their is no coverage on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th is not fully complete yet. It looks like highlights at the best? Very disappointing.

I like the top Europeans and Russians but am not up on what's happening or when. Can someone tell me who is hosting Euros this year and what we should be attuned to? Who is likely best podium bets and why? I'll make few guess and you Euro posters let me know what's really what.

The Ladies. I am hoping Kira takes gold. I love her SP music and program this year and the deeper knees. she is less awkward, better flow. I must confess I am dazzled by her beauty in that spring green glam confection. Best look of the season, aalong with Gracie gold's Sp, Mao's Lp and Ashley's LP. But has there been a more beautiful skater to ever come out of Europe? She really is a good skater, improving still at 24. I imagine she will marry some Prince after Sochi May she skate well

Leonova-will she be there? Which Russian ladies will be there? Liza is the best baby but I'm not sold on her though she is clearly mature beyond her years. Julia? Any word on her injury? Will she be ready? I love this little cracker but so far uber flexibility and jumps make a little whirling dervish. Not much soul/artistry yet, but she is a tiny package-box of chocolates for me. How many get invited or qualify for Euros, from any country?

Has Karo said she'd go? Luuurrve Caro-hope so-magestic is what I see-last two years. If she brings it, shes surely a lock. I wouldn't mind Korpi winning tho. Want her on podium of course. Hope Liza makes bronze or feisty fiery Leonova. Hate most programs but she's a very good skater. Irina S always comes to mind. Fireballs.

Men. Javier should win gold easily-yes? I hope. Joubert-great skater even now-silver for Brian-he'll be there? If Brian Falters, then flying fleet footed Amodio.

Bronze if not Amodio, I hope Michal Brezina can do two clean programs. I like this kid. I also like Artur and Max Kovtun. I am not sure if Plush is going to Euros? I thought I read he won't. Pairs: Are S/S out til Worlds? Then Euro gold must be Tat/Max. I don't really like Kava/Smirnoff or other top Russian pair all that much. Who else is likely on podium? I have not followed pairs much. I admit I am looking for a great NA team like S/P with their style/unison/chemistry/great programs. No Russian pair since B/S has captivated me. Tough shoes to fill the co-SLC gold medalists. S/S are like contortionists. I don't care for Ingo Steuer as a choreo if thats who does them. But their Athleticism is off the charts. If healthy, they likely win Sochi. How r they doing?

Ice dance: Gold should be Capellini/Lanotte (did I mess up names?) Only saw them 1-2 times but they are smooth-really a team. Love this handsome Italian pair. Silver Nathalie and Fabian who likely own the gold this season with the Stones-you can't miss. Fun skaters to watch-and oh so French. Bronze? Dunno
