I have mixed feelings with OOR, love their previous albums, especially Zankyo Reference, but JinseixBoku wa and 35XXXV ,so-so :hopelessness:
Making playlists sure helps  I adore them, but some songs make me go  :rolleye:
(I was lucky enough that they had good set lists at the two concerts I've been to)

I remember a member here said she got free Yuzu files from japanese fans, amazing indeed
Yes, Pamigena :yay:
Anything you don't remember?
Yes, Winnie and I were two of those who had that good fortune at the GPF. When I was sitting outside, I had asked one of the Japanese ladies if I could have a look at her anan magazine (one of them. She had 3 :roll9: ) and later she found us again inside the venue and gave us the clear files and some printed picture cards. At first we didn't really understand what she wanted  That was quite unexpected, but a lovely surprise.

After Worlds I had a number of comments on my blog from Yuzu fans about how they'll stop watching skating once he retires. This made me sad. While I don't want to think about Yuzu retiring, I wrote a blog post about how we'll move on together and find new favourites when the time comes.
Well, for some it won't be a case of "my favorite skater retired" but more like "the only skater I had any interest in retired". It's not about skating, it's about one person. I've seen it mentioned on the forum that there were people at Worlds who literally didn't know anything about any other skater and had only come to see Yuzu. That's just how it is. Nothing wrong with that. It's like watching a movie that would normally be totally uninteresting to you, but you watch it because your favorite actor is in it. (I wonder why that example has come to mind just now  )

Hi PrincessBeany, I tried to comment on your blog but somehow the comment couldn't be sent out. So I'm putting it here:

I wasn't interested in skating at all until I saw yuzuru. I did watch FS on and off, on tv, but I've always thought FS program as a little bit mechanical, i.e. it's always jump-jump-jump, followed by some choreographic moves after all the jumps were done. But when I saw his Parisienne Walkway, I thought to myself, boy that kid is special! His program (and himself) is nothing I've seen before! It was because of yuzu, I started picking up interest for skating. I started watching competitions and ice shows (and fell in love with some of Yuna's, Johnny's and Shizuka Arakawa's performances. My favourites besides yuzu); I tried my best to learn all the technical terms and aspects, I spent time reading the ISU guidebooks, to study how jumps and steps are done, and to familiarize myself with the ISU judging system, so that I can appreciate the sport (or rather, yuzu's skating) better. But sometimes, ignorance is bliss.

Ever since last season all my interest for this sport has vanished. Seriously, I'm too disappointed with the lack of standard of the sport and the lack of integrity of the competitors themselves, namely, those who practice cheated take-off and cheated landing. I'm disgusted by the lack of standard in judging - just look at how PCS and GOE are awarded nowadays. What's the point of having a scoring guideline when judges can give away scores anyhow anyway, what's the point of having a technical panel when heavily under-rotated jumps or wrong-edged jumps are recognized, and are even awarded positive GOE - and yet many people, including the so-called specialists, journalists and fans, seem to think that was OK.

To me, this sport has lost its credibility and fairness. The only reason i'm still watching it is because of yuzu. I feel sorry for him sometimes, because he worked so hard to make every small elements perfect- adding difficult steps before the jumps, inserting high quality transitions here and there, brushing up the artistic aspects, improving choreographic details, no cheating, risking injury and all that, BUT, while he certainly raised the standard of FS, it also raised the scoreline of other skaters (***). This is sad. I have utmost respect for yuzu, not only as a skater, but as a person. (on the other hand, i appreciate Pchan's skating too, although his wasn't my style, but he has the correct, honest jumping techniques and undeniably great skating skill)

So, definitely no more FS for me after yuzu retires. I wish Yuzu all the best and that he will retire with a happy ending.

Welcome to this thread, hikari! I'm one of those folks who know very little about the technical aspect of skating so I'm quite satisfied with the state of FS these days (mostly), but I wanted to react to your last remark. Are you quite sure? Because as the saying goes, 'never say never'; perhaps someone will show up, possibly even this very season, who will make you change your mind yet. After all, there is still time enough till Pyeongchang (sp?) :) Though I myself am cautiously optimistic at the possibility that hanyu might keep skating even after 2018, health permitting... *fingers crossed*

Yes, something on the stove when busy Yuzuruing

I watched FS previously only during Olympic seasons since Petrenko/Witt days, I remembered Kwan not getting gold, Mao too young to compete, Oksana story, Tonya/Nancy incidents etc. The last time I watched skating was checking youtube when MJ passed away to see the tributes by skaters. No one caught my attention for me to follow FS.

Then in Dec 2013, I stumbled on Yuzu's GPF PW on youtube. I fell in love with HIS skating. Finally an elegant male skater with out-of-nowhere jumps and who does not have his butt stuck out :p. So I'm definitely in the group of he is "the only skater I had any interest in"

Welcome Hikari :yay:. My heart breaks for him.
But one thing for sure is that figure skating is not going to define him. Yuzu will define Yuzuru Hanyu :cheer:

He will, that's why I really am most looking forward to his career outside of figure skating. On top of the above, he can continue being ambassador for Red Cross and earthquake rebuilding, and product consultant for Phiten & Nintendo.

He can be a motivational speaker as he is a source of inspiration even beyond figure skating. His ability to logically analyse, and the eloquent and thoughtfulness of his speeches and interviews, he can even hold ministerial positions.

The opportunities with his degree, he may pioneer something....“I have an interest in psychology, statistics and mathematics, and believe that, through the scientific method of human sciences, I can improve my figure skating techniques and ability to express myself". "I enjoy psychology and especially sensory information engineering, which I am studying now. I want to study them hard because they are directly linked to skating. ”

With his talents, abilities and drive, the world is an oyster for him there are endless possibilities.

Thank you

I totally agree. Jack Gallagher summarized nicely in his article in The Japan Times Sports (December 1, 2015) "Hanyu's greatness confirmed at NHK Trophy":

A gifted athlete and an entertaining showman, Hanyu has it all and a great personality on top of it.

When I think of the ideal face of Japan in the 21st century, I think of Hanyu.

A person with limitless potential, who is going to be successful at whatever he does.

@aliajackson, @hamaguri, @Geo1 thank you very much for the links to the videos with Italian commentaries.
I do prefer those of Italian Eurosport not only for their enthusiasm about Yuzuru skills (and their "Planet Hanyu" trademark ) but because they give also some useful insights to understand the scores and the possible evaluation (or bias) of the judges.

And Alia: the neologism (at least for me) "Yuzuring" for the time we spend about him and his performances is fantastic! :agree:

“yuzuring” is so nice! Yes, while cooking, cleaning, I show his videos in my living room.

Welcome, welcome! :hap10: Yes, I just pray for his biggest smile at his ending.

his future depends on himself. I believe he has the power to control his own life whatever happens.

You became his fan at GPF2013? i think Yuzu at that time was best in many aspects. He looks quite free and natural on the ice (If he’s on that condition, I’m sure no one can beat him. But such magical moments dont come so many times. that's why a moment like this shines more.). The audience, the venue (Specifically, ice condition at that time was best for him as he showed his gratitude about it to the city where the competition was held.)… Every condition is on his side and he won and it led to Olympics. it feels like everything was arranged for him towards his destiny.

Nishikawa clear files cost a lot compared with lotte, but those photos make the temptation to get them so much!

What need to be purchased to get one file? A pillow, duvet ? or can one buy one pillow and get all the files? I wonder how much a pillow or the duvet cost.

But the clear files with these photos especially the POTO one is

Someone made a list of their items for the campaign here.
But the cheapest item seems to be this pillow pad at 1580 yen including tax.
And I think it's 1 item = 1 file but I hope they are making exceptions for the really expensive items.

I'm so glad I'm not into collecting clear files :drama: or I'd be broke by now with all the gums and pillow pads

I'm not a member of the P&G site (because they ask for too much information) so I can't read Yuzu Days, but I've been reading comments from people who has read it and it sounds interesting.

Something about him drinking Japanese sake and being unable to talk properly  Anyone know the details?

Here is the translation by Angelica Yuzu from YHIFG
When I turned 20 and I returned to Sendai; for celebrating "Coming of Age", I drank sake for the first time, together with my grandfather and male cousin(s). Then later, Dad also joined in and everyone drank, but my speech started to slur. :laugh2:
