United States Team Envelopes

Here's a link from the USFSA website giving the US team envelopes for the 2005-2006 season.

Michael Weiss, Matt Savoie, and Jennifer Kirk are on Team B this season.

Not surprisingly, Johnny Weir, Evan Lysacek, and Timothy Goebel are on Team A, as are Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen.

Good luck to them! Go, USA!

Sandra was last year national Junior champ. She was 17 then. She recently moved to Colorado Spring to get better training.

LOL, it's Sandra Rucker -- Rockne Brubaker is of Miller/Brubaker. All junior champs automatically qualify for the Team B envelope.

Junior Ladies at '05 Nationals wasn't the most stellar event of recent years, but Christine Zukowski (silver) and Megan Oster (bronze) both have potential as rookie seniors this season based on what I saw from them at the Liberty summer comp. last month.

BTW, the most updated version of the team envelopes is on the Athletes page at: http://www.usfigureskating.org/Athletes.asp
There should be many new additions to the Reserve team in the near future based on the latest batch of international assignments this week (I'll start a new thread on that topic).

Sylvia, I read on FSU that Finlandia (10/7-9) is being cancelled due to the low number of entries. Not surprising: Nebelhorn is late this year (9/29-10/2) and the Vienna Cup (the Olympic qualifying event) is 10/12-16.

Too bad for Nick and Alissa.

Yes, I mentioned the Finlandia cancellation in the other thread at:

I'm sure both will be reassigned to another Senior B international.

Amber Corwin and Angela Nikodinov have been relegated to Team C. I sure hope both of them can work their way up to at least Team B next season by finishing strongly at Nationals.

Good luck to you, ladies!

From my view last Nats, MillerBrubaker may just be the best thing to hit American Pairs.

Zukowski and Oster I remember both of whom did well, but I really do not remember Rucker.

And thanks for the Link, Sylvia. I noticed Silverstein and O'Mearer are on for Skate America. Bebe in Neblehorn; Emilie in Vienna and Cizney got the coveted Finlandia.

Joesitz, Megan Oster's 3toe-3toe combo was the highlight of her Jr. FS in Portland. Sandy Rucker had a clean SP (3lutz-2toe, 3loop, 2axel) but landed just 2 clean triples in her long (loop, lutz). Zukowski landed a 3lutz-2toe, 3sal and 3toe-2toe in her FS. Tenile Victorsen was the surprise pewter medalist, landing 3 "easier" triples (sal, toe) and she will stay junior this season, along with all but one of rest of the jr ladies' field in Portland.

SkateFan4Life, Angela Nikodinov will not be competing in 2005-06 -- here's the July 7th article: http://www.usfigureskating.org/Story.asp?id=30244

The team envelopes are for funding purposes only and do not correlate to the types of international assignments the skaters receive (not all the envelope skaters will get internationals).

There are specific criteria for Team A/B/C/Reserve (usually followed to the letter with a few exceptions here and there):

Edited to add link to the separate discussion thread on the latest U.S. international assignments where it's mentioned that Finlandia Trophy has been cancelled:
