I remember a fluff piece on them that showed this sign Kathy Casey had made that counted down the days until Nagano. That day it said something like 600 days to go and shelby was talking about her Olympic goals. Too bad she never made it.

Yes, she did. She had so much talent and just disappeared.

I read somewhere that she quit skating.

She had great consistency on jumps and throws in pairs. She was also a very respectable singles skater.

I just figured she might be kicking it in that closet still.. .. sorry, jacked up joke! Do you all remember that fluff piece aired during the '96 Nationals where her bedroom was a closet?

At least it was a walk-in closet.

I believe Shelby Lyons is now coaching in Colorado.

I don't remember the fluff about Shelby's bedroom being a closet.

I do recall that a few years ago she was attempting to return as a singles skater (there were pictures posted from one of the regional competitions IIRC.)

I felt badly for Brian Wells after he and Shelby broke up because his age and his being on the shorter side made it difficult to find another partner.
