All right, so perhaps it was a little unfair of me to suggest anything about Katya and Ilya. It's just that after the skates of Cousins, Gordeeva, and Kulik the audience was going crazy, but cerainly in the mood to see more. The mood after the Protopopovs' skate was such that it was very hard to get back to seeing others' skate.

Also, when I saw Daria last March, she was standing next to Artur Dmitriev's son, who is about 16, IIRC, and at least as tall as Kulik, who is 5'11. And no, to all who may be--are certainly, lol--wondering about any that might be blossoming between Daria and Artur's son, I don't know of nor have heard of any rumors to that effect. All I heard is that his nickname is ArturD2, a la "Star Wars."

Well, especially if refering to what you mention about the dance team coming after the Protopovs.

According to your words crowd sure welcomed Cousins, Katia and Ilia well! And in my opinion that is an excellent time to stop the show after such high note with crowd wanting more. They will come back next year to see more...

I stand corrected on Artur Jr.'s age (thanks Lulu) and perhaps his height. He looked to me to be as tall as Ilia when I caught a glimpse of them after the show, but it was only a glimpse and Artur, Jr. and Ilia are differently proportioned. Then again, I reached my full height at 13 as did a number of boys in my very large school, though most girls are taller than most boys until about the 10th or 11th grade. Also, some men continue gaining height into their early 20s (21, 22).

And yes, Daria and Artur Jr. did look to be having a good time at the SOI show, meaning they talked and laughed with each other through most of it -- except when Katia or Ilia were skating, natch. They were in a special section away from the audience lest anyone think they talked where it could have disturbed anyone.

Thus I'll voluntarily end my height guessing career and just say that IMO Daria is either now or will grow to be too tall to have an elite competitive ladies singles figure skating career. Of course I wish Daria every happiness, whatever career path she travels, whatever height she attains, physically or otherwise. Same for ArturD2, too.

Thanks for the review. I really enjoyed it. I wish they would show this show on national TV like they used to, instead of on CN8 which we don't get here.

There will though be that streaming video on the CN8 website plus I would imagine that some skating fans will be able to make captures out of both or either of them.

Someone (jmfunnyface) just posted a link to pictures she took at this event. She said not to hotlink (not exactly sure what this means so I won't post the link here), but there are pictures of Daria standing next to people like Kimmie Meissner, Katia, Paul Wylie, etc....She is definitely still shorter than all of them. Don't know how tall that makes her & Katia could be wearing heels in the pictures next to her (off-ice). But she's shorter than Kimmie still, so...?? How tall is Kimmie? lol Not sure about that, but someone probably knows.
