Dorothy Hamill Skates to "Silent Night"

I just watched Dorothy Hamill's performance to "Silent Night" on a Christmas television special. She was beautiful, as always, with lovely lines, jumps, spins, and that wonderful smile.

I'd rather watch her than any of the younger skaters with 3 exceptions. Sasha, Michelle, Irina. I think this will be not a great Olympic season. I'm sorry to say so though others must be feeling the same.

I think this will be a fantastic Olympic season. Perhaps we will see some surprises on the Olympic podium, and that's perfectly OK with me.

I just hope that the season doesn't become a procession of injuries and that the skaters who win the Olympic medals win them, perhaps, because the major skaters were injured and either did not compete or were not able to compete at their usual high level.

Anyway, it was a treat to see Dorothy on ice again! She is absolutely ageless and still possesses the special spark and glow that made her "America's Sweetheart" following her 1976 Olympic gold medal win.
