Coaching?? | Golden Skate

I have recently decided that when i grpow up i would love to be a figure skating coach for skate canada. I would like to know if this is possible. I am 14 and am working on my axel and double salchow. I have been skating for 3 years.

Hi there!

For you to become a Skate Canada certified coach, you must pass 2 complete Jr. Bronze tests. You can not take your level I until you are 16, but you can take the first aid and such that are needed prior to your turning 16.

can they be any junior bronze tests or does one have to be like a certain one
this spring i am testing both junior bronze dance and skills

TECHNICAL – teaches Skate Canada rules, program standards, technical skills of figure skating, ethical coaching, communication, planning, coaching as a profession, mentoring, physical preparation, nutrition, etc.
Level 1
Phase 1- CanSkate (3 day course)
Must have passed the Preliminary Free Skate, Dance, Skating Skills tests plus one Junior Bronze test
Phase 2 - Introduction to Figure Skating Home Study
Phase 3 - Figure Skating (3 day course)
Must have passed the Junior Bronze Free Skate, Dance, and Skating Skills tests
Levels 2 & 3
General Subjects Course (2 days)
Technical Courses
Singles (2 days)
Ice Dancing (2 days)
Pair Skating (2 days)
Synchronized Skating (2 days)
