News Phaneuf withdraws from Canadian Champions

    http://www.skatecanada.ca/en/news_vi.../2006/jan3.cfm
Cynthia Phaneuf will not be competing this year due to injury and is planning to return next season. That's too bad, because I was hoping she was going to do well in nationals and gain her confidence back.
It will be interesting to see who will gain the second spot for ladies event and qualify for the olympic team.

I hope she'll be on next week and show everybody that she deserves to be on the national team and even more on the podium!
Those are impressive jumps! She reminds me a lot of a young Rochette.

Just wondering why that is? She has improved a lot on her choreography and artistry. I am sure she will come in second.

I don't find that she improved her choregraphy and artistry. I don't like her skate, her technic. I prefer to see Amélie Lacoste with technic and artistry.

Probably Mira will finish second, but I hope to see Amélie Lacoste on second position.

Fair enough. Everyone has their own opinion. I do think that her new short program does suit her, though, much better than her programs in the past.

Well let's just say Amélie isn't exactly on track for that second position. She is in tenth after the qualifying. That's a lot of skaters to overcome.

Do you think they will show Ashton Tessier on the coverage tonight?

Wow! Amelie managed to skate her way onto the national team! And she will be going to Junior Worlds! Good for her!
