20 Best Excuses for Calling In Sick

These are pretty good.

My boss said the best one he heard was from me when I called and said that my car had been stolen, which actually happened. Wasn't too funny at the time.

Do you know of any.

I think "I was being hunted by a hit man" would be good for me.

Today I very nearly called in with "I just almost skidded off the on ramp to 95 and it took me fifteen minutes just to get down the Spaulding that far and I'm afraid if I try to drive the rest of the way to Boston I'm going to die in a horrible accident" but I needed the money/hours. Stupid ice storms.

The best one I ever used was the power went out and I couldn't open the electric garage door. It covered me for being late, but not for the whole day. Also, like most good excuses, you can only use it once.

On days that I have a doctor's appointment and want to stop at the mall before going back to work, I've used these:

1. The doctor had to go and deliver a baby.
2. The office was getting a new computer system and everything was a mess.
3. The doctor was late. Imagine that?

Once again, they've always worked, but if you use them all the time, they get suspicious.

How about just calling in dead? I might try that someday..
