I'll provide a play-by-play for those in Canada who aren't watching or for those in the US who want to know how it's going.

Do you think we'll see any throw triple axels?

2twist -- nice
SBS 2a 2a sequence -- very nice
Lifts -- good, slightly rough dismount perhaps
Throw 3s -- she floated
SBS spins -- unison a bit rough
SBS 3s -- perfect
Throw 3l -- very nice
Lifts -- much better than first set
Lifts -- gorgeous, and perfectly on the crescendo of the music

AMAZING PROGRAM!!

They're going to be such a dynamic team. And I loved the costumes: simple and elegant.

Throw 3L -- hands down
2 Twist -- very nice
SBS 3t -- she falls
SBS 2a -- bit of a scratchy landing, but clean
Lifts -- nice
Lifts -- very nice, looked very difficult
Throw 3s -- she really had to fight, but didn't touch down
Spiral sequence -- very nice
Pairs Spin -- A bit of trouble on one of the transistions but nice
Footwork Sequence -- good
Lift -- very difficult, nice

Good performance, but not good enough to take away the lead from Dubé and Davison, I don't think.

Darn. They let it go. They have lots of potential for the years to come though.

Not sure what place in freeskate.

Wow, they were HELD UP by the judges. I thought Dubé and Davison definitely should have won the free program. Because of the large lead, IMO a bit too large, that Marcoux and Buntin amassed in the short, I could have seen them not winning the competition, but they definitely should have won the free program. They were held up greatly by the PCS.

I just watched it also and I agree fully with you. They were handed the championship this year. Dube and Davison DEFINITELY should have won the free and possibly the title in my opinion.

Re: M/B being handed the championship this year - I kinda saw this coming - particularly after the short when they were handed a totally undeserved HUGE lead. I mean, I had no problem with them being in first after the short as I would have been with any of the top four teams, actually. But the fact that they were given marks so far above the other skaters seemed like "defending champions" points.

With them finishing ahead of Dube/Davison, however....I think this might actually be a good thing for this young team. It gives them a chance to get senior international experience while still in the shadow of a more experienced team. A win in the free skate, however, would not have taken that opportunity away.
