Pushenko's coach: "Zhenya isn't well, but we will be at Europeans"

Alexei Mishin, coach of a the Russian singles skater Evgeni Plushenko, told "New Izvestiya" in an interview that, despite no feeling well, Plushenko plans to fly to Lyon for the pre-Olympic European championship.

Commenting on the rumors that Plushenko isn't too well and will skip the competition, Mishin said, "Of course, there is never smoke without fire. You see, on Sunday Zhenya wasn't feeling well, he had a nose bleed... Obviously, having something like that before an important competition isn't good. That why our trip to Lyon became questionable. All I can say to anyone who wonders if Plushenko will really be at Europeans is that we'll try to follow a long established plan. And the plan certainly includes the Europeans".

In case in Plushenko will not go to Lyon, Alexander Uspenski, who came fourth at Russian Nationals, will take his place on the team.

Maybe, there has been too much cold & dry weather for him. That can cause a nose bleed, especially being on the ice constantly.

I hope he is feeling very, well. Slava bogu, Zhenya.

Yeah, it has been a terrible winter in Russia. Petersburg isn't as bad as Moscow this year (surprisingly), but day temp is around -5F.
