    Ladies Short Program, Report

Based on the RTR-Sport coverage, which was cut short because of tennis.

    Irina SLUTSKAYA

    3Lz+2T

    FCSp, donut, change of edge
    SpSt, CoE b., back b.
    LSp, typical level4
    SlSt
    CCoSp

Ok, it was typical Slutskaya, love it or hate. This year I am closer to hate part, because choreography is completely MIA. But one cannot deny her enegry and fighting spirit.

    TSS: 35.91/30.52=66.43
    Place: 1

    Carolina KOSTNER

    SlSt, looked complex
    CCoSp, good positions, nice speed
    LSp

Good choreography. The program suits her well. Pity about combo and the spiral sequence was rather shaky, but the rest was very good.

Great jumps, but the rest was so-so. She is not suited for CoP, her non-jumping elements would all be called level 1.

    Susanna POYKIO

    Personal Best:

    3L2T
    3F
    FCSp, CoE, half-B.
    2A hand down
    SpSt
    LSp
    SlSt poor flow
    CCoSp

After all traditional ice princess stuff she did in the past this one was rather unusual choice for her. Playful and somewhat retro in style. Suits her well, through. I have her ahead of Volchkova.

    TSS: 28.88/27.17
    Place: 56.05

    Elene GEDEVANISHVILI
    Music: granada
    Personal Best:

    3Lz
    3F+2T
    FCSp CoE, donut
    SpSt held?
    2A
    SlSt intricate
    LSp level4
    CCoSp

Excellent skate and very good program. She need a bit better control over her moves , but the rest was nearly perfect. Deserved to be 2nd: she had harder jump content and better spins&spirals than Sokolova.

    TSS: 35.41/24.76=60.19
    Place: 4
