Yay! Ilia officially has the second spot for Russia at the Olympics! All he had to do was finish above Dobrin!

And he should do that by about 10 placements.

Congrats to Klimkin for an awesome FS showing.
I'd like to hear from those who've seen the comp if the French guys' placements (3-4-6) were fair.
While I was never a Lindemann fan, it's still sad to see a World bronze medalist ending up in 5th at Euros.

Once about Joubert's PCS scores were shamefully high, embarassingly inflated. Hopefully this was a one-time thing since the event was in France, and in Turin the judging will actually be fair.

Yes, because we all know that only CERTAIN skater's PCS marks can be shamefully high, embarassingly inflated, and it's all still "fair"....:sheesh:

Joubert will get the PCS scores he deserves at the Olympics hopefully, it would be nice to know the French cant buy themselves medals like they did under the old system.

I actually did not have specific persons in mind, although I know I could come up with quite a few I consider being frequently gifted (in scores, not necessarily their skating!) But as this person had the same sense to post the exact same stuff at FSU, and then subsequently was ill-behaved enough to be banned during the aftermath, I thought I would reply here.

She probably means Slutskaya, Joubert could only dream of having the performance, musical interpretation, and basic skating skills that Irina possesses though. Irina might get the odd gift from the jobs, but for the most part she earns everything she gets unlike Brian who simply has the French fed. buy his medals, and does nothing but jump, and even misses some of them most of the time.

Which medals did they BUY in the past? Anissina-Peizerat was undoubtedly the best ice dance team in that field. The Dushenays finished second at the 92 Olympics. An argument could be made that Usova-Zhulin were better, but the Dushenays had Chris Dean choreography. I don't belive the silver was 'bought' for the Dushenays. Some help from the crowd?- yes. Joubert earned all of his medals. So did Gusmeroli when she won the world bronze (1999 or 2000?). Candeloro deserved both his Olympic bronze medals because the favorites did not get it done and he did when it counted. Surya Bonali earned all her medals, including the 5 European titles.
