You saw the recent 'Olympic Ice' show's segment on practice techniques? Scott Hamilton specifically talked about Pluschenko doing minimal public practicing as the competition approaches, especially if he is in great shape. In effect, competitors should fear Plush the most when he pracices the least.

So -- nothing to worry! He is ready!

I've heard them say on CBC that Plushenko has been keeping all his practices concise and short because he has been landing all his jumps and doesn't want to wear himself out for the olympics. They said that he has been doing this throughout the entire season.

'Overpractising' is not always the best strategy. A skater may get too tired and start making mistakes that result from using wrong technique. That could work against him/her.

In Moskvina Minute, she said that is part of the Russian "psychological attack" - you show up, do a few things easily and then leave, showing everyone that you are better and don't have to practice as much as they do.

Well, after watching the mens SPs last night, it's obvious that Plushy knew what he was doing!
