Jeff almost always comes back with a strong free after a bad short. That's the difference between him and Eman-he's a fighter. Think positive! Go Jeff!

See, I figured with Eman's pattern this year (bad short, excellent long) would continue here...obviously not and obviously he has NO pattern. lol

GO JEFF!!!!!

Let's hear it for CANADA once again - Shawn Sawyer!!!!
Warsaw Concerto

3 flip - 3 toe

3 axel? "not quite"

3 lutz? only a double....

fantastic spin (1st time the Eurosport guys comment on spins today)

amazing spiral

GT 3 toe out of nowhere, at the end of a jump sequence!!!

another 3ple combo (???) soon after. Good for the extra points - late in program

End. HUGE SCREAMS!!! "Listen to that!" "He's done himself proud!!!" "Won't threaten the Americans but a lot to admire there. Only problem with 3 axel..."

BOOOS!!!! WHISTLES!!! Shawn into 6th - weak component scores...

SAWYER

3F-3T-a tiny bit scratchy, but fine
3A- flips out on the landing
3Lz- turned to a double
A little stumble on crosscuts
Spiral-beeeeeeeeautiful extension
2A
3L-3T sequence- 3T probably will be downgraded
3F- two footed maybe? otherwise nice
2A
I don't think the penalty for two-footing/falling is correct. There is only a point difference between them, but to me twofooting leaves muh less of an impact on your impression of a jump, than falling would. I think the issue is more with making the penalty for falling more, rather than making the penalty for two-footing smaller.

That one spin by Shawn was superb. He's so flexible! And he did a nice spiral sequence too. I love when guys try that. :)

don't they also get a negative GOE for falling? The 1.0 deduction is mandatory but normally they loose a lot more points than that. Am I correct?

I've tried to connect to Eurosport audio, but to no avail after numerous attempts. Just finished work and now in the hospital/medical lib. Glad to see on Euro that Evan and Matt are 1-2, so far...Evan's SP must have been a nerves-induced fluke, he looked so tight with the "deer caught in the headlights" mug. Do you guys think he'll hold onto the bronze??

Yes they do. I was talking about the GOE. A fall receives a mandatory -3 GOE, a two-foot -2. I forgot about the additional deduction, but that is still only two points difference. I believe it should be greater.

Plushenko! Godfather. (just made it back in time for time...)

4 -3 -2 clean as whistle!!!!!!

3 axel with 2 toe GREAT!!!!!

3 loop - huge

3 axel solo SO CLEAN!!! "That's it - he's untouchable...let's just sit back & enjoy the master!" says Simon.

Audience already standing & clapping in time to music....

spectacular footwork...more footwork...squeals of people in audience!!!!! Russian flags galore...

***slows down music

a 1st fault...just a 2-footing? "Doesn't matter"

Now he's totally on fire in final footwork of twizzles, etc. half the hall already standing, dancing on seats, clapping.

"I've never seen anything like it - he's made it a quite magical evening..."
