If hulking men with bats can have mojo, then a skater who lands on the edge of a blade can have mojo, too.

I find this very unkind. Johnny is not the first athlete to have an opportunity slip away, nor will he be the last. He may be more open in expressing how he felt. It is not unusual to have an intuition, a feeling, at a certain time. The vibes just don't feel right. Sometimes a skater is able to overcome it with sheer will power, delivering what is needed, but not his/her best skate. Johnny did not get the medal this time. So what? It's not like he was falling all over the place. I don't think he deserves to be ridiculed. He seems to have become the new punching bag of our media.

My clock radio switched on Friday morning at 4:30 and what was the first thing I heard? The exact quotes we're discussing here. Johnny said, "I wasn't feeling my aura", and I thought, "Looks like Ravyn has a new custom title!"
Seriously, though, who hasn't said lame things when disappointed in oneself? I respect a guy who can try to be entertaining when he's down. I hope he comes back strong at Worlds and performs to his (amazing) potential.

Ravyn, you have to work Camille in your signature or somewhere.![]()

What most of the press and fans seem to lack, that Johnny
has in abundance is IRONY.
Do you perhaps think that Johnny is being ironic on
occasion? Poking fun at it all?
My goodness, the guy is quite intelligent...and to think that
no one caught that "Camille" was a reference to his
music's compuser Camille Saint-Saens.
The reference to never being alone because he's got
Camille is a campy and refreshing way of saying that
if you're one with the music, you're not alone...
How do you know he isn't "putting on" everyone who asks
him idiotic questions..."Oh my God, Johnny, what happened to you?"
I would answer the same way he did about my missing aura instead of the dull, trite expected response we've normally heard from athletes since the Day 1.
Lighten up a bit and enjoy the camp...
That being said, a little off thread...I now LOVE BARBARA FUSAR-POLI
for providing some much needed entertainment. She is amazing and
the Olympics should erect a statue in her honor.![]()

What?! in the interview when he said he's name the glove Camille he said very clearly it was named after the composer of his short program music.Originally Posted by kaesie
I like his comments, i think he's funny, whether it was post PR mop up or a genuine realisation that he came across as giving excuses for his poor skate regardless of his actual intention he's issued a serious statement now saying that not of the stuff he mentioned matters, he just skated badly and it made him sad.
At least his playing on marketability as what we in the UK would call a Gob-Sh*te!!! Good for him.
Ant
ant,
sorry...american tv that i saw only referred to how strange it was
that he named his glove camille...
