Alissa Czisny is in third, but she's 30 points behind the leader, Mao Asada. Even with a less than perfect skate, Mao got 113 points.

Unpromising start for start for Aki Sawada (sixth).

4th is a good placement in this tougher of the 2 qual. groups for U.S. junior champ Megan Hyatt. FYI, in her Nationals FS, her first jump was 3T and she did a 3T-2R where you say her "bailed flip" was (could be she's added a 3flip there since Nationals?) and her final jump combo at Nationals was 3S-2T-2R.

Alissa Czisny hasn't skated a junior FS this season until now -- looks like she's added a 2nd 2A in place of the 3T at Nationals.

Good thing points from qualifying don't carry over in juniors. Alissa will be in the last group for the short, that's all that matters for now.

Yes, and Yu-Na Kim was 2nd, Czisny 6th, Sawada 9th -- these 4 are the highest placing skaters from last year that have returned.

True for both Mao and Alissa. their last junior competition was 2005 Jr Wrlds. Both had to recalibrate for Junior programs. Not sure who else, if anyone, was skating senior programs all year.

It looks like all the talk about Mao missing all 50 of her triple axel attempts might have been hyped up a bit, since it seems like she landed one in qualifying.

Megan's 3F has been inconsistent for sometime, (hence....not in her FS at Natl's) but we are glad to see that she tried to put it out there in her FS QR at Jr Worlds! Keep workin' hard Megan! What a great experience for her this season....a JGP and Jr Worlds!

What is the age limit for Jr. Worlds? I thought that Alissa was to old for

Are we sure it was rotated? The report said it looked short.

A singles skater at 2006 Jr. Worlds had to have turned 13, but not yet 19, as of July 1, 2005. This is Alissa's last year of ISU junior eligibility as she turns 19 in June.

I've been reliably informed that Hyatt does not have a 3flip planned in her FS but that the "bailed on flip" was supposed to be the 3toe-2loop combo that she did in her Nationals FS. She also still has the 3S-2T-2R planned as her final combo in her FS.

Keep workin' hard Megan! What a great experience for her this season....a JGP and Jr Worlds!
    Definitely!
