Most Embarrassing Moments!!

So how long do we have to wait for the new season to begin? I was trying to think of something to pass the time and get a few laughs at the same time. We did this at a party and everyone had such a good time with it. What we did was tell a story about a really embarrassing moment. I will start with one of my many embarrassing moments (I have many to choose from).:lol: :lol: :lol:

There is a place in Omaha called the Old Market. It is filled with quaint shops, French, Greek, Mexican, Indian, etc. restaurants. You can see people in a horse and carriage, as well as stretch limos. I love to go shopping there. It’s quite an experience. One day while shopping I went to the restroom, used a seat cover, being the ever so conscious person that I am. After using the restroom, I continued to the next shop I wanted to visit. I was having a good time. About an hour later, I ended up in a shop owned by a friend (male). He was standing at the register and when I came in he said look over at the wall, pointing to something new he got in. I turned around and he was around that corner in a flash. He put his arm around me and said, “Dee, do you always wear toilet seat covers?” He told me that I had one hanging out of my slacks. Oh my God, I was so embarrassed!! I had walked around and went into different shops wearing that seat cover. Don’t ask me how I managed to get it caught in the waist of my slacks. All I know is that I make sure I check myself over before leaving a restroom now.:lol: :lol: :lol:

I had approximately the same thing happen to me but no one else saw it but my daughter. We were laughing so hard. We went into a restaurant and were sitting there still laughing and the waitress wanted to know what was so funny but we wouldn't tell her.
Another time, we were at the rock shows in Quartzsite, AZ and someone had dumped a whole bunch of glass beads on the path in front of the booths and my friends and I were busy picking them up and putting them in our pockets. Then we went into a shop in town that sells beads, etc. and I whispered to the girls "I just had a thought, what if they think we were shoplifting and we'd be in trouble". We all were laughing a lot and the clerk came over and wanted to know what was so funny and I told her we couldn't tell her. She got really mad. I still laugh about it.
Luckily, I can't remember most of them. One I do remember I was in a declamatory contest when I was a junior in high school and got in the middle of my piece and went blank. The teacher was supposed to be prompting me and wasn't paying attention. It seemed like forever before I started to remember. The judges told me I would have won if that hadn't happened. What a disappointment. But, I did get out of going to my great grandmother's funeral. It was the same day and mother let me go to school instead because of the contest. I was supposed to stop on the way to school and visit her - but I didn't. Have you ever smelled when they had all that formaldehyde? YUK To top it off that was the only time I got to wear my new blue dress. My little brother got into the navy blue dye and tried to eat it and spit it out all over my new dress. I had to wear the same green one for several years every Sunday. Isn't it funny what you remember.

That Old Market in Omaha sure sounds like fun. Maybe, I can get there some time. But, it won't be until the weather cools down. It was 109.2 here Monday and 102 today. And I've had to be out in it every day. And Monday was the day my daughter and I had decided to go to the outlet mall in Newton. OK...in college the laundromat that my roomates and I used was conveniently located beside one of our favorite bars. We would take turns running back and forth transferring from washer to dryer, folding you get the idea. On a particular tequila night (25 cents a shot...it was the 70's), when it came my turn to remove a load from the dryer and fold I was going about my task when a guy who was a total stranger came over and said ..."excuse me, I believe that's MY underwear you're folding".

I remember a long time ago eating and drinking in a Mexican resturant. I had a few margaritas and needed to use the little girls room, but because I was a little drunk and couldn't read the spanish on the bathroom doors I walk very boldly into the mens room and proceeded into one of the stalls until I realized I was in the wrong restroom

Just remember another one. I was 17 and was walking in front of the YMCA (where I later met my husband) and the wind blew my dress up. I was so embarrassed. Sure got the whistles. There were a whole bunch of guys out there. Most of the ones that lived there were university students. It was at 11th & P. And boy did they like to say I need to go to 11th & P.:lol:

When I was a young girl and a new driver, I took my parent's car to the drive through car wash. My car wheel didn't trip the rinse cycle lever, so I drove out of the car wash with my car covered in soap bubbles. I had to drive around the block and drive through the rinse cycle. (Of course the five other cars in line had to back out to make room for me.) I was so embarrassed.......:( 42

My most embarrassing moment? I guess it was while on a date - eating at a Chinese restaurant. I was so nervous, that I took a bite of a fortune cookie and forgot to take the fortune out beforehand! Realizing what I had done, I just continued to chew - my fortune! I don't think the guy knew what I had done (maybe he was too polite to say anything). Anyway, "that's the way the cookie crumbles!"

Another one, I was on a date and didn't usually take a purse, had my date keep my lipstick in his pocket. Went to the bathroom and my lipstick fell in the toilet. I was too embarassed to tell him what happened and when we got to my door he couldn't find the lipstick and just apologized and apologized for losing it.

I was at a family reunion last summer in the Poconos, which is located in northern Pennsylvania. I went horseback riding with my cousin and her friend, and then proceeded to fall off the horse. I was SO embarrassed. I felt so stupid!! My aunt told me not to be, but I couldn't help it. Not to mention I always felt a little intimidated around my cousin, because she's older and used to have this thing with making fun of me, especially when I was around other members of the family. Plus, I sprained my wrist. So that was not a fun experience for me.

<span style="color:blue;font-family:comic sans ms;font-size:small;">I was in my first trimester of pregnancy and not feeling well at all. Why we went out for lunch is beyond me. Anyhow, I went into what I thought was the ladies' room and remember saying, "How odd that there is a urinal in here." I went into the stall then heard a guy come in and do his business! I nearly fainted! After he finished, I called out, "I think you're in the ladies' room" to which he replied "I think you're in the mens' room". Then he left and suddenly that whole urinal thing made sense! Of course I looked on the door when I left and it was, in fact, the mens' room. I attributed my complete air headed behavior to my pregnancy.</span> :D

Of course I’ve had more than two embarrassing moments in my life but these two just popped into my head.

When I was in high school I was in The Ballet. This was not the ’local dancing school’, this was the six hours a day, seven days a week, 50 weeks a year study of dance providing the basics and foundation for what was yet to come in my life. But I digress.

Each spring we would have a Gala Performance just like the professional traditional companies. (Madame studied under Fokine so almost everything we did was traditional.) For the dress rehearsal Madame would invite the school board/district ‘higher mucky mucks’ so actually this was a performance since it was up to them to continue the Ballet program funding.

There I was waiting for my entrance music; we were doing Rachmaninov’s Concerto #2 that year (5 . I heard my music, took a deep breath and entered doing a pas de bourree couru, en pointe. (For the uninitiated, ABT defines pas de bourree couru as a progression on the points or demi-pointes by a series of small, even steps with the feet close together or in layman’s terms, teeny tiny running steps on pointe shoes.)

I was doing okay until I hit approximately center stage and for some reason I tripped over my own foot, fell and went rolling over, and over, and over. I was so embarrassed but in the dance tradition, I stood up, faced the audience and asked, “Would anyone mind if I started over?” (Had it been the middle, I would have just kept going.) Madame was purple and the ‘dignitaries’ were smiling, so I just walked to stage left, took my entrance pose and waited for my entrance music. Needless to say, I caught hell, had a lot of teasing from troupe members and classmates but let me say that the actual performances were perfect. “I were good.”

Later the same year we were practicing for the annual Choir/Ballet show when the next moment happened.
We were doing a jazz routine to Steam Heat from The Pajama Game and the choir was in the orchestra pit. Because the combined Ballet/Choir rehearsals were in the morning before school we didn’t wear our practice clothes, we were allowed to wear shorts and tops. So there I was, in the front row, dancing my little heart out and really getting into the music when I noticed the choir members in the pit were laughing like all get out. Then I felt it. The zipper on my shorts broke and the shorts were staring to come down. Well this time it was the middle of the routine so I smiled harder, kicked higher, shimmied like my sister Kate and finally got my shorts down to the point where I could just step out of them. Not only did I step out of them, I kicked them out into the orchestra pit and kept on dancing. Did I catch hell from Madame, you bet your life I did. But it went something like, you know why you have twill tape on your laces, perhaps your mother could sew something on your shorts zippers that would have the same effect?

And dlksk8fan and RealtorGal; I too walked into a men’s room. This was during a college basketball game and had I had my wits about me I would have just backed out. Not me though, I let out a yell that made every one in the room turn around and look at me; then I backed out of the door.
I think that the designation should be Men and not Gentlemen or the noun in another language.
