Lambiel robbed of new PB by technical specialist!

I looked back on tape and Lambiel`s triple axel was NOT cheated. It definitely should have been ratified. He was basicaly robbed of 4.2 judges by the anti-Lambiel panel of judges for no reason other than wanting to help other skaters. He also had a spin that was the exact same spin he did in qualifying graded a level 2 by the American technical specialist, when it was a level 4 in qualifying. He would have broken his PB from qualifying with a score over 162without this blatant cheating by the technical specialist who was obviously looking out for others.

how ironic :sheesh:

:boohoo:

he won for crying outloud... if the panel truly hated him they could have easily "allowed" Joubert to get the gold

Hardly, given that they had to have the technical specialist cheat him out of 5 and a half points, and he still won by 3 overall, it obviously would have been very hard for them to give Joubert the gold. It would be extremely hard to justify having a skater who did 2 quads and 7 triples with no mistakes, who has average spins and footwork, and non-existant presentation come from behind to beat a skater with 2 quads and 7 triples and only 1 mistake, who has great spins and very good footwork, and very good presentation. In the end he won since they had no choice, but he still was cheated out of marks by the American technical specialist. If anything Lysacek`s triple axel should have been the one downgraded, it had a half-turn cheat taking off. Again though the tech. specialist was an American. This sport is so crooked.

Just wanted to point out that Lambiel's spin was the ONLY non-jump element in men's competition this Worlds that averaged GoE greater than 1.0. Hardly a Lambiel-hating panel!

Ptichka, I have read with interest several of your comments based on the score sheets, and just wanted to tell you that I have enjoyed all of them. While I have my own opinions about how COP could be improved in the future, I love having something concrete to go by, to understand what happened. (whether it's the outcome I favored or not)

You rock!!

Why am I not surprised that somehow Evan's skating and specifically
his 3 axle is involved in a thread labeled "Lambiel robbed of new PB.........."

What is it with you and Lambiel? I've never read anything of yours to be so down on a particular skater. And when I predicted that Brian may win this Worlds, you never agreed with me and concentrated on Buttle and Johnny.

Anyway, everyone in Calgary saw Stephane's 3A as perfectly clean and the Tech Asst must have been French or incompetent. But even with the downgrade he still won and if you believe the judges are never wrong, then LAMBIEL IS THE WORLDS CHAMPION AGAIN!!!

Ah, Joe, I'm not down on Stephane, and I'm sorry if I have given anyone that impression. Of all the men out there, he's got the best of both worlds, technique and artistry. Not only is he the two-time world champion, I liked him for the bronze in Dortmund over Lindemann.

Congratulations on picking Lambiel and Joubert for the top two spots at worlds! I'm not really that much into predictions, but    for those who are.

I do enjoy Buttle's and Weir's skating. I don't know whether or not they will ever win a world championship.

What I don't care so much about is "wuzrobbin'." It's fun, I guess, but it doesn't change anything.

On to the spring cheesefest!

Go Stephane!!!

BTW, the Technical Specialist was Scott Smith (U.S.A.), the Technical Assistant was Pirjo Uimone (Finland), and the Technical Controller was Benoit Lavoie (Canada).

We have two Scott Smith's running around? Or am I just too sleepy to remember? That's just as confusing as having two Linda Leaver's!

If the same thing happened with Evan, even if he won an event, you would be complaining too, I gaurantee it!

No, I'd be busy celebrating his win. Who cares how many points he got if he won? You just like to complain.

Are you joking??? How on earth is Scott Smith allowed to be technical specialist? He competed against all the US skaters in US nationals this year?

Actualyl now i'm thiking about it some more i'm sure you must have made a mistake...maybe Scott Davies?

I'd have thoguht you'd be thankful for the sport being crooked otherwise your favourite wouldn't have nearly so many medals in her collection!!!!
