Ok, fellow Canucks...whatcha think of the show?
Heres my quick thoughts:

Billy: Hes ok when hes not yelling...and he didn't yell tonight.
Toya: same as above
Ritchie: I love my Nova Scotia boys, but tonight was not his night.
Karen-Lee: Good song choice; she shook it up a bit.
Gary: What a cutie
Candida: Power of Love...yuck...not within her vocal range.
Ryan: Something about him...got my vote!
Jenny: Shes so weird...but I like it. The next Ani DeFranco?????
Mikey: go join a boyband
Audrey: She's the one who will win...shes got it all.
Tyler: seems to old for this...and where was his family?

My thoughts on tonight:

1. Audrey: By far the total package. Amazing voice, amazing look.
She should win the whole competition.
2. Ryan: Awesome tonight. I hope he goes far.
3. Billy: Great way to start the show.
4. Tyler: Stage presence personified.
5. Karen-Lee: Agree with Zach. Don't like the song but I like what she did with it.
6. Gary: Surprised he did so well with his song choice. Too bad Audrey picked the same song and was much better.
7. Toya: Great voice, not sure if she has enough attitude.
8. Jenny: She baffles me. Half of the song was brilliant and the other half was too laid back.
9. Candida: Tries too hard to show a range she doesn't have.
10. Mikey: Didn't even know when Zach was insulting him. I agree with Kara: Join a boy band.
11. Ritchie: What was that all about? Just plain bad.

I LOOOOVE RYAN!!!! I thought it was Jim Cuddy singing when he opened his mouth and started singing tonight. He totally did Blue Rodeo justice. I got chills, and I had a tear. He also got my vote tonight.

I agree that with y'all that Audrey will win it. She's got class and grace and one heck of a voice. I just hope she can keep getting the votes to keep her on top.

I really enjoyed the show tonight. There's some great talent in the top 11. I think, as the show progresses, it could get very difficult to decide who should go and who should stay.

Here's how I rated the contestants tonight:

1. Tyler (great stage presense, wonderful voice).
2. Karen (she *killed* Black Velvet; SHE could be the Idol).
3. Gary (his version of "Angel" blew me away)
4. Ryan (possibly the best singer of all & very confident)
5. Audrey (sweet, emotional voice but I'm not on the bandwagon)
6. Billy (great song choice and he was ON tonite. He ROCKS.)
7. Toya (she's terrific; but she held back a bit too much tonite)
8. Mikey (Sass & I agree; not biggest voice but love the emotion)
9. Jenny (just too quirky for me - she's good .. but very quirky)
10. Ritchie (NOT a good nite for him - he really should go)
11. Candida (PITCH problems! She can do better, but OUCH!!)

So, right down to #8 on my list, I was lovin' them. Way to go, Canadian Idol!! This is going to be FUN.

Ritchie, Candida, and Karen-Lee all got sent home. The big surprise was Toya in the bottom 4.

Aww, Kara, you didn't see the show tonight? I'm in Halifax and I saw it. The election coverage was on ATV (as you know); and, just as I was about to give up on Idol, the announcer said, "thousands voted in the Nova Scotia election today, but MILLIONS of you voted for your favorites on Canadian Idol last night. If you want to see the results show, just move on up the dial to our sister station, ASN.) I was SOOOO glad I was standing right in front of the TV when he said that. :D

Anyway ..... I also was REALLY surprised that Karen Lee was voted off. She was one of my very favorites last night.

I was sooo shocked when Karen Lee was voted off. I thought she had one of the 3 best performances Tuesday night, and surprise, she's gone. Methinks that Jenny will be like Carmen and Josh from AI2. She'll be there for much longer than she should be, just like the forementioned American Idols. As long as Ryan and Audrey can last a few more weeks, I'm good to go.

So what did everyone think of tonights show? I was a little underwhelmed to say the least.

1. Ryan--Solid with great stage presence.
2. Toya--Strong voice, hit a Mariah note.
3. Audrey--Not her best, but still better than most of the others.
4. Jenny--She may not be Motown but as Zack said, she can sing.
5. Billy--Should have sung something more upbeat.
6. Tyler--I'm sorry but Motown is not country.
7. Mikey--He has the weakest voice out of the whole group.
8. Gary--That was just awful. He won't be back.

My predictions: Bottom 4 will be Gary, Billy, Tyler, Jenny(should be Mikey)

Gary and either Billy or Tyler go(should be Mikey to go but he has the little girl fan base)

The resemblance is so striking, it's not even funny. But Audrey really has an amazing voice, she's my vote for Canadian Idol... now I'm just wondering *how* Jenny's still in there...

I too was a little disappointed with tonight's show. Not as much good singing as last week, with huge gaps between the idols. Ryan was my pick for the best of the night. I greatly enjoyed his little dance too. It was nice to see them make an attempt at something other than singing. Zack's little Weezer quote when he was done of "you look just like Buddy Holly" had me laughing really hard. Same with his comment about Tyler being the whitest white guy out there. No one else really impressed me that much tonight.

I can't believe it...I forgot to vote!!! I got caught up in watching a movie. BTW, Catch me if you can is super!

I also wasn't very impressed by tonights show. Few of the contestants really have anything close to a Motown style.

Ryan- I think he did really welll, considering Motown is not his style. he is so cool.
Toya - i"m really turned off by her now that I've found out that she competed in Popstars, finished in the top 5, and got a recording deal. Why is she allowed to compete?
Audrey - showed that she has weaknesses.
Jenny - I really liked her! Shes growing on me. I think she takes a song and performs in a way that is totally unique to her. And she looked awesome tonight!
Billy - I kinda liked it tonight...he actually sings well when hes not screaming.
Mikey - ahhhhh, why is he still here
Gary - poor guy...this should have been his night to shine...he has a vioce that is made for Motown singing.

And I am really curious now as to what kind of underwear Ben wears...and Zack too. Hes cute in an angry kind of way.

So I would have probablly have voted for Ryan and Jenny. Although no one really stood up and screamed "I AM THE CANADIAN IDOL!" tonight.

With the exception of Toya, Motown night was, IMO disastrous.

I wish they would let these people sing what they can sing, and not dictate to them. Some of those people are soooo much more talented than these restrictions allow for them to show.

My votes tonight were for Audrey Toya and Billy. Ya, Ya, I know.... BILLY>>HUH >> WHAT WAS SHE THINKING !!!! but there is just something about him that I love. Don't know what it is, but its something!

Hopefully next week's performances won't be so abysmal.
