Meissner honored by school boards
World figure skating champion Kimmie Meissner of Bel Air will be honored this morning by the State Board of Education for maintaining academic excellence while achieving athletic success at the international level. Meissner, a 16-year-old junior at Fallston High School, saw her stature rise significantly after placing sixth in the Winter Olympics in Italy and winning the World Championships in Canada last month. She also was to be recognized by the Harford County Board of Education last night.
