Hi all!
I'm working on a project and could use some input. Could you respond to this thread with what version of AOL you use?
Thanks!
Hi all!
I'm working on a project and could use some input. Could you respond to this thread with what version of AOL you use?
Thanks!
8.0a
LOL Math, Thanks! Are you subscribed to the GS Newsletter, and if so, does it read ok in your AOL platform?
I didn't realize some people were still using version 4-6 and I don't know if it's an isolated incident, but a few have emailed saying that the newsletter is not readable. Only AOL <sigh>
Of course I'm subscribed to the GS newletter! It's fine. I read every article. In fact, they come out so fast that I hardly have time to read one completely before I get the next one!
If anyone has on old version of AOL, you can upgrade for free just by asking AOL. In fact, they periodically ask if you want to upgrade and all you have to do is click yes.
There were some problems with version 8.0, however, so if you have that, be sure to upgrade to 8.0a (aka 8.0 plus). If you are still having trouble with some interactive web sites, this is AOL's security features protecting you. You can dial down the security settings if you want.

I think it's 7.0....not sure. Don't really care, as long as it works...Kasey
I use 6.0 - Im not up to date at all. And I do subscribe to the newsletter.:D
Laura
Laura,
Do the newsletters come through readable and clickable for you?
It appears that 7 & 8 work. Now I have to find out about 4-5.

8.0 here
On my Windows computer: 8.0 Plus
On my Mac: AOL for Mac OS X
<span style="color:teal;font-family:comic sans ms;font-size:small;">Why pay for aol when there are SO many free programs out there??? Not to mention the fact that when I did have aol, I couldn't handle the unbelievable amount of spam I received on a daily basis!</span> :D
Paula,
I'm still on dinky old AOL 5.0. Why? Because I have a Mac but don't have Mac X. I haven't received a GS newsletter for over a while, but they worked. I'll pay better attention next time.
Rgirl
PS to Rgal: As to why pay for AOL (a question I've asked myself MANY times) the thing is, I've got so many things saved on it that it would take me a good month to transfer it all onto other programs. But it is on my agenda. IMO AOL is a PITA.
Paula,
I had a chance to check the May 9th GS newsletter on AOL 5.0 and it looked like this:

Paula-
Yes, The newsletters seem to work fine for me. I've never had a problem clicking on anything or opening a link.
