    Thanks :-)

I guess that means the people who use 5 and under are having problems. This was HELPFUL!

Thanks for asking, Paula. So much DOESN'T work on AOL 5.0 you just stop paying attention after a while. I know, dumb to keep paying to be with "America on a Leash" (LOL, Rgal), but we all have our reasons to stay dumb.

Paula, people who have AOL 4.0 or 5.0 but can't see the newletter graphics can try this. Go to Preferences, WWW (or Internet Settings), Web Graphics, then UNCHECK "Compressed Graphics."

    7.0

And why do I still use it? Several dumb reasons.

    1. I travel. I have less problems getting on AOL in different places than I have had with other programs.
    2. Worldlink is cheap and has lots of servers, so I tried them for a while. Then a virus came through and they were down for 5 days. The longest I have ever been down with AOL was 1/2 day. When the trial subscription ended, I canned WorldLink.
    3. I have had the same id on AOL for many years--nearly 20.
It is 3 letters long, and I have no trouble remembering it. All my friends know it and have no problems remembering it.
    4. I understand V. 8.0 is supposed to be better for Spam. I have gotten less spam since I have been using AOL's Spam blocker.
    5. I have signed up with a ton of on line sites in my financial life and purchasing life, all of which have my old id. It would be a pain to change.
    6. About 5 years ago, the viruses were aimed at AOL user's. Now they are aimed at Outlook users. I haven't had a virus in a long time. Plus AOL claims they have made efforts to protect you. (I don't know if this is actually true).

Iis not really costing that much a year. So I am staying with it.
