    English as a Second Language

The bandage was wound over the wound.

He could lead if he would get the lead out of his pants

When shot at, the dove dove into the bushes.

He was unable to object to the object before him.

After a number of injections my jaw got number.

After making a tear in the painting, I shed a tear.

I sure am glad that English is my first language. I would hate to have to try to learn it.

    PS
Grandmother might question my language skills in English. I would only tell her, No kidding, English is my first language.

I will have to ask my daughter how much trouble she has with her students about all those words that have several different meanings. She teaches English-second language. When she first started they were mostly Asian but now not as many Asian and many from other countries. Lots from Mexico. I helped her correct papers one time. They had to write about their trips to America and why they are glad they are here. Some of those stories were heart breaking about all the things they had gone through in their country. Every April she takes them to the Renaissance Festival. I have gone as a sponsor twice now. It is really interesting.
