I believe this is the event where the ISU is planning to use a double panel of judges, one for tech GOEs and one for component scores. It will be interesting to see how the experiment comes out.
That's good news MM. I just hope the PCS judges are not influenced by big jumps as being great choreography.
No listing of skates in that complicated link.

Hopefully this will help develop the system even further, preventing the use of program component scores as a way to elevate a skater's scores over another skater's scores when there is bias by a particular judge. The CoP still has a way to go, with continuing refinement, at least until 2010. I think with each season of competition, new areas of debate will come to light. And with the trial of two separate panels....a tech GOE and a component score panel, perhaps the effect of bias can be diminished even further (not necessarily eliminated).Originally Posted by Mathman
Added on USFS' International Assignments page today (Aug. 9) for Nebelhorn Trophy -- Team USA so far:
Bebe Liang, Katy Taylor, Derrick Delmore, Parker Pennington, Slattery/Lee in dance and Pairs TBA.
Katy Taylor has a busy schedule. Nebelhorn Sept. 29, Skate America Oct. 26., and Skate Canada Nov. 2.
Bebe also has two senior Grand Prix assignments (Cup of China and NHK).
I just checked out the site. It has the list of winners of this event going back to 1969.
Trivia question: Who is the only lady to win the Nebelhorn Trophy twice?
Answer: Irina Slutskaya, 1993 and 1994.
Other notable winners: Dorothy Hamill, 1971; Debi Thomas, 1984; Tonia Kwiatkowski, 1988; Kyoka Ina (singles), 1989; Surya Bonaly. 1990; Shizuka Arakawa, 1995.
They have to give Bebe as much as possible because I am sure she will not be an annointed one for Campbells. that will be KM, KT, EH, ACz.Originally Posted by Mathman

Actually, Elena Liashenko also won twice, '97 and '99.
I wish some of the other smaller competitions that go back for years would do this. It's a hoot to read some of these names; some of them I remember as being in the middle ranks during the 80s, or competing at Nationals, but some of these other ones I have never heard of in my entire life. (Ludmila Bezakova, anyone??)![]()
Does anyone know if the entries have been published yet for the Nebelhorn Trophy? If so, where have they been published?
They're not yet up on the Nebelhorn site, which Sandra_persch published in the first post on this thread.
Eventually, there will be an "entries" link on the ISU Events Page:
http://www.isu.org/vsite/vcontent/pa...m-item,00.html
(Scroll to "Results" section.)
According to the USFS site, the US entries have been updated:
Ladies: Liang, Taylor
Men: Delmore,Pennington
Pairs: Castile/Okolski (added 8/22), Katz/Lynch (added 8/22)
Dance: Slattery/Lee, Matthews/Zavozin (added 8/14)

When Skate Canada updates its site, the entries will be located here:
http://www.skatecanada.ca/en/athlete...l_assignments/
(scroll down to "Senior International")
Of course, we are not going to get this on TV so we need some personal reports from our fans going to watch it.
I saw a vast improvement in Pennington's skating last season, and I would like to know how well he fared.
Bebe, I'm afraid should switch to speedskating. She is the fastest today. What she needs is control of that speed. She should study Irina tapes and watch IS slow down before any element entry.
Katy is somewhat of a mystery. We know she won 4CC but no one really saw it. I'm looking forward to the GPs for both of them.
