Doesn't sound to me like three weeks off the ice and back to double jumps is enough rest for a stress fracture...surely if he has his sights set on the next Olympics he'd be better off sitting out this season to fully recover and have the next three to prepare for the Olympics?
The only thing going back early will do for him is maybe allow him to limp through this season aggrevating the injury and then have to sit out the next season or two recovring...just ask Sasha Cohen.

A back injury!!!! Oh no! I know what that is all about. Poor Jeff. Not a good start to his new season. Shades of last year when got food poisoning. I hope he is able to compete. It will be difficult for him. I wish him the best. Looking forward to his new programs.
