Juliana Cannorozzo is on a roll, with a first place in the Hungarian event already under her belt. Does anyone know anything about this new-to-me skater? She does not have a bio on the USFS site.

Cannarozzo played "Zoe Bloch" in the 2005 Disney movie "Ice Princess" -- link to Part 1 (of 3) of USFS' article series on the U.S. skaters in the movie:

Thnaks, Slivia. By spelling her name wrong on the USFS search feature, I turned up only one mention where her name was misspelled in the same way, LOL.

Great article about Zoe and the Jumping Shrimp.

I was not really impressed with Juliana last year, but it's nice to see improvements in skaters. I'll have to check her out in Spokane.

A Russian gal in 2nd place!!! Nice going. It's been a while that we've seen ladies singles in russia moving up.

Note: Megan is v. close to the Russian gal and I think the LP will be quite a toss up.

Svetlana ISSAKOVA (the skater in 2nd place) is ESTONIAN, not Russian.

The Russians are Jana SMEKHNOVA (5th place) and Margarita TERTICHNAIA (9th place).

I see that Issakova had strong technical marks, but was only ninth in program component scores. The free skate should be interesting.

Cannarozzo has added 3lutz and 3flip to both her short and long programs this season. She also has 3toe and 3loop in her FS but no 3salchow. She will be competing as a senior in the US.

Final results show a fall fest and I don't mean the season.

Juliana kept in lst and by quite a bit over the Italian and Russian gals. Megan totally off.

Boy, I'll say! It looks like the Italian girl, Stefania Berton, fell three times but still finished 5th in the free skate and second overall.
