I found this tip from figure skating universe forum. Many thanks to LLOS.

CCTV5 isn't on pplive anymore (blocked for people outside China), there is an other much better program TVU, download here: http://www.tvunetworks.com/index.htm then you can either use the program to see the channels (even US channels are there, ABC, ESPN etc..) or go to this site after installing the program: http://www.viidoo.com/en/index.php

To view the channels in Media Player you open http://www.viidoo.com/en/index.php and run the channel you want and then you put this URL
http://127.0.0.1:8901 into Media Player and you can make full screen (mute the sound at the site to not have double sound). You have to run both to view a channel.

Schedule:
2006 Skate America (Ladies Short) 10/29
1 pm-2 pm ABC
2006 Skate America (Men's Free/Pairs Free/Free Dance) 10/29
4 pm-7 pm ESPN
2006 Skate America (Ladies Free) 11/5
5 pm-6 pm ABC

CCTV5:
10/26: 9:00-10:15 PM EST pairs short live
10/28: 7:55-10:00 PM EST pairs long live
10/29 10:05-11:30 PM EST ice dance (taped)
10/30 10:05-11:30 PM EST men’s short and ladies short(taped)
10/31 10:05-11:30 PM EST men’s long(taped)

!!!! Remember, North American time will change from Summer Time to normal on Sunday. There will be 13 hours time difference between beijin and north america EST. Please adjust the schedule accordingly.

Actually, language is NOT really a problem with CCTV. The announcements in the rinks are in English, as are the graphics. (English is the official language for the ISU events) And the Chinese commentators (GASP!) don't chit chat through the programs! I loved watching CCTV last season and expect similar broadcasts this season.

And the Chinese announcers naming the dances the ice dance teams will be doing was such a hoot! The sha sha and the lumba were as close as the Chinese got. Too bad we only get the tango this year. I'm betting they have no problem pronouncing that one. (OTOH, we Americans always mash up names and terms from other languages, so I bet they find us just as funny. Except in North Korea, where if we exist at all, we are the spawn of the devil. )
