Biorhythms (just for fun)

Out of boredom I was searching through a celebrity database and they had many female ice skaters on that list. Under each name it gives you the option to do a "match" based on biorhythms (birthdays I think). I entered in my birthday to see what I got with each one just for fun (here were the skaters listed):

Michelle
Sarah
Sasha
Irina
Maria B.

I did this a while back, but here's what I got:
Maria- 44%
Sarah 57% (or something like that)
Sasha- 72% (not bad)
Michelle- 78% (why so high???)
Irina- don't remember, I think it was about 50% though

Gee, I must be so bored...

Stop! In the Name of Love.

I just matched 97% with Diana Ross!!!!!!!!

But for some reason it didn't work for Michelle. Must be off the scale,

Somebody else try and tell me what I'm doing wrong:

Ha! My best match was with Bette Midler! Now I'll try a male match.......back in a minute........

Okay, now I am depressed. My best male match-up is John Belushi........how bad is that. Mathman, I came out a 68 percent match-up with Michelle.......not too bad, since we have the same birthday (but not birthyear  ) 42

My best were 99% with Ed Harris, 97% John Elway, and 96% Gary Shandling. No John Zimmerman (pout).

Desperate appeal to Show42, Piel, or Sk8cynic:

Something is wrong with my computer. For some reason, it won't display the results when I look for individual matches. And the screen is slightly different if I use AOL or Internet Explorer (?)

Anyway, I have a friend whose birthday is 3/28/44. (Two days off from Diana Ross, 3/26/44.) Will somebody please put in this birth date and do Michelle and see how it turns out?

If it's low, don't tell me.

Mathman, the date 3-28-44 came out to a 60 percent match with Michelle. High numbers on the physical side, but low on the intelletucal side...... 42

Sixty per cent! I'll take it. I mean, my "friend" will take it.

About the intellectual part, that means that I am a left brain (numbers and stuff), and Michelle is a right brain (artistic). Or is it the other way around? I get right and left mixed up sometimes.:)

Thanks, Show.

You have it right, Mathman. Left brain controls logical, linear thought, while right brain is pretty much a garage sale. Most people with left-brain dominance tend to be right-handed, and vice versa.

I'm left-handed, but I'm an accountant. Go figure. :rollin:

Re: Biorhythms (just for fun)

Biorhythms go like this. Starting when you are born, you have fluctuating highs and lows in three categories, physical, mental and emotional. Your physical strength waxes and wanes on a 23-day cycle, your mental acumen on a 33-day cycle, and your emotional well-being on a 28-day cycle. During these cycles your score ranges from 0 (the base mark), up to 100% (one fourth of the way through the cycle), back down to 0 at the half-way mark, then down to -100% (negative 100%) at three quarters, then back up to zero.

To see how you are doing on any particular day, take the total number of days that you have lived, divide by 23 (respectively, 33 or 28) . The quotient is the number of complete cycles that you have gone through, and the remainder tells what day of the current cycle you are on.

Example: Michelle Kwan was born on July 7th, 1980 (recently declared a national holiday by the USFSA). Today, May 18, 2003, is her 8350th day. For her emotional score, divide 8350 by 28. It goes 298 times with a remainder of 6: She is on the 6th day of her 299th emotional cycle.

This is great (her absolute peak comes on the 7th day, 7 being one-quarter of 28) .

To quantify her score, from -1 to +1, the formula is

sin(2pi*x/P),

where sin is the sine function, pi is pi, x is the remainder and P is the period. So Michelle's emotional score for today is

sin(2pi*6/28) = .9749,

more than 97%.

To show that this is a crock, on March 29th, the Worlds long program, she was at minus 73% physically and minus 10% mentally. (One and a half cycles later, April 30, when she appeared on The View, she was at her physical peak (+99%) -- as anyone can attest to who saw her -- but, alas, only 10% mental (well, at least it was in positive numbers).)

Mathman

PS. All three cycles reset together every 23*33*28 = 21252 days (about 52.2 years). So to get a perfect match with your favorite celebrity you would have to share the exact same birthday (day and year), or else be born exactly 21252 days before or after him/her.

I think that I have just greatly surpassed Red Dog in the "Gee I must be so bored" department.

OUCH!! Mathman, you're giving me a headache, making me think through that!

Cool to know, though. I'm going to send the link to this thread to some of my friends.

Hey Mathman,
Show these digits to your "friend"--BWAHAHAHAHA!

Michelle and Rgirl
Physical 99%
Emotional 90%
Intellectual 58%
Total 82%

This just proves how absolutely and totally accurate this method is. I see no error whatsoever:rollin:
R82%MKgirl

BUT...when it came to my best matches in general:( :(

Rgirl's best matches
Male
Eric Stoltz&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 98%
Tom Sizemore&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 97%
Alain Prost&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 96%
Gary Oldman&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 96%
James McDaniel&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 96%

Female
Sylvia Millecam&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 99%
Tineke Verburg&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 99%
Kathie Lee Gifford&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 97%
Rebecca De Mornay&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 97%
Natalie Cole&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 97%

The men aren't bad--I love Gary Oldman, especially as Sid Vicious in "Sid and Nancy"; Tom Sizemore is okay; and I like Eric Stoltz. Piel, can I trade you Alain Prost (who's he?) for Gary Shandling? I love Gary Shandling, or at least I did when he did "The Gary Shandling Show" and "The Larry Sanders Show." I was hoping for a match with Sam Shephard (as an actor, not a playwright) or at least Hank Azaria.

But the women--KATHIE LEE GIFFORD!!! :x  Natalie Cole and Rebecca de Mornay help make up for her (I love trains:smokin: ), but Tineke Verberg is a Dutch TV and radio personality and former Playboy model (yeah, I'm sure I got her body:rolleyes: ) and Sylvia Millecam is another Dutch actress except she's dead (great omen)--died in 2001 at age 44. I was sure I'd get in the high 90s with Liz Taylor (for sure), Judy Davis, or Juleanne M-o-o-r-e. I'm so humiliated:(

Re: Ok, must be something to this....

These are my best matches. I hope I don't show my ignorance (like it would be the first time ;) ) but who is Thom de Graaf?

Thom de Graaf 100%
Jim Carrey 98%
Rupert Graves 98%
Kevin Bacon 97%
Bill Paxton 96%

I don't like Jim Carrey. But Kevin Bacon and Bill Paxton are pretty groovy. :)

My daughter's matches

My daughter matched 99 percent with Pink, of all things!:rollin:

Then she matched 99 percent with Jacob Underwood (whoever) and 98 percent with Plushenko and Goebel.

I matched 99 percent with Rick Springfield.

99%?!!!!!

Ninety-nine ever-loving per cent?!!!!!

90%?!!!!

82%?!!!

Biorhythms are stupid. I hate biorhythms. Even the word is stupid. Bi-o. What's that, a Louisiana swamp? Rhythm. A two-syllable word with a silent h and only one vowel, if you want to call it that. Biorhythms can kiss my b*tt.

It serves you right about Kathy Lee.:p

Mathman:x

PS. I bet I can figure out your birthday from this information.

Uh, Mathman, then it'd be Bi-u rhythms. :rollin:

And for me, with my elegance and grace, it'd be more like Writhe-ems.

I plugged in my sister's birth date, and she and I both had 98%match with Colin Firth!!

There is some justice in the world, however....My soon to be ex's best matches were Leif Garrett and Anna Nicole Smith!! :rollin: :rollin:
