Looks like it was an absolute splatfest. Pairs has so deteriorated in recent years. It used to be one of my favorite disciplines, now it's often rather painful to watch. COP has not been kind. Neither has anyone's choreographer. It is my opinion that pairs are trying far too much difficulty without mastering many of the basic skills as a foundation. Judges using COP are far over-rewarding sloppy, ugly elements that have been "tweaked" to add difficulty, even though they're done poorly teams seem to feel it's worth their while to try them. It must be disheartening to the pairs skaters as well. It's so rare to see a program without a major error — that's got to be not only hard on their bodies, but demoralizing.

I agree. It just isn't as beautiful any more, although S/Zs programs from CoC were gorgeous.
