I wrote this text originally into the Vooting booth under the thread "Best battle for national championchips this year" but I think that was not the right place for that information. Here is a copy of part of that text:

This competition takes place 8.-10.12.2006 at Mikkeli in East-Finland. All the participants can be found from this site:
http://mikkelinluistelijat.sporttisa.../osallistujat/

Where juniorit tytöt = junior girls, seniorit naiset = senior women, juniorit pojat = junior boys, seniorit miehet = senior men and juniorit jäätanssi = junior ice dancers.

This was also intresting:

The short programs of the senior women will be aired directly on the Internet via the CampusTv (on Saturday 9.12.2006 14.00-15.30 local time): http://www.campustv.fi

Also the women's free programs are going to be aired partly but "only" on TV (the Finnish Sport Channel 23.12.2006).

This is wonderful, the nationals have never before being aired or at least I don't remember anything like that. So, thank you Susanna and Kiira! If we wouldn't have such a good female skaters, these nationals wouldn't be aired either.

Lepistö's result has been a big suprise and some people thought that her short program was even better than Pöykiö's.

3. Valtter Virtanen HSK 46,02

By the way, Could someone move this into the thread Various National & International Events, please.

What a strong field for the ladies. Finland ought to make a good showing at Europeans.

I hope Susanna does well at Euros and Korpi gets that zip she had in Calgary. There is one Finnish guy who has a lot of promise. Can't think of his name.

Too bad Laura can't go to the Euros.

Media of FInland has written that Kiira dosen't know what is wrong. Kiira said that she can do all the jumps in practice but somehow she can't concentrate on competitions. She also said that she will dump or change the short program because she is not comfortable with it at all.

I have understood that because of having been injured Laura did not partcipate in any senior event (= Finlandia Trophy) this season, and that is the reason why she cannot compete in e.g. Europeans. She sure had bad luck, but on the other hand great luck as she won the silver medal at Nationals now.

I remember that as Susanna Poykio won her first Finnish Nationals title, she was not sent to Europeans or Worlds...

Is this a rule that Finland has or is it so in other countries too? I mean isn't Nationals a senior even.
