My final observation is simpy this: the only skating event to be shown on ABC is Marshalls cheesefest? And they wonder why the popularity of skating has declined?

So, who did you all vote for? Did you know you could vote over and over if you cleared your cookies?

I voted for John and Rene three times and for Katy twice (just so she would get at least two votes  ), then I voted for Johnny three times and Emily twice, then I voted for Sasha in the finals.

Programs I liked best: Inoue and Baldwin's first skate, Evan's Ave Maria, Johnny's My Way, Emily's Proud Mary  and Sasha's God Bless America.

I didn't know about the cookie-clearning feature but I already placed a burden on my computer by capturing the live footage to my hard drive as it was airing.

I voted for Cohen in the West round, Kimmie in the East Round, and Cohen again in the Final round.

I voted for Emily and Evan. In the final I tried to vote Kimmie but was told the number I called wasn't working. I tried to call back, but the resulfs session was already starting. Not much time to vote!!!!!

I voted for Evan, Johnny and Johnny. I thought Johnny's fantastic skating was the only thing that made this program worth watching. JMHO.

As far as SKATING is concerned, Johnny and Kimmie won this "competition", and Cohen came in last.

I hated the music Kimmie chose, but she did some real hard-core skating. So did Johnny, and both of Johnny's programs were great.

"West Side Story" had two jumps: a double axel and a double salchow, and the salchow was double-footed. Dancing on toe picks and standing in one place posing for 1/4 of a program is not figure skating. "God Bless America" is pure cheese, and I didn't like it any better at Marshall's than I did at COI this summer.

It was a foregone conclusion that Sasha would win no matter how she skated, but I had hoped for something better than this. Skate at Nationals? Not if she doesn't want to be humiliated.

Didn't get to vote since I was skating myself at the time, but after watching the tape, I thought Sasha and Emily both did great jobs.
Tanith and Ben's Tango was pretty good, too, but the music sucked.
There's lots of good Tangos, this was not one of them.
Happy to see Johnny back from Fairyland and in an almost normal costume.
Had I voted, Katy would've been the chosen one, and yes, it's because she is so damn cute!!!

And I was happy to see Johnny back IN Fairyland! I voted Sasha, Johnny, Sasha. After I saw his Swan I didn't think I could vote for Sasha over him, but then her GBA was just perfect. I agree re: T&B's tango music. Ick.

I was so expecting Johnny to throw in that elusive quad. He just seemed so ON. His My Way blew me away and I didn't even use to like that program much.

John and Rena, Evan, Kimmie, and Johnny all did great programs. Everyone else judt didn't do it for me. I was waiting for emily hughes to let loose and go wild during "proud mary" but she never did it. I felt like kurt really put sasha on the spot. I don't believe she ready for nationals.

First round, Evan got my vote in the west, and Johnny in the east. Of course, their programs were not on the same level. Johnny skated his heart out, the best My Way I've ever seen. Even though Sasha's WSS was so beautiful, it seemed too slow. The second round, Sasha got the vote. She was perfect.

I like B&A but this time it seemed they had more emotion but no speed. Over all, I enjoyed it because Johnny and Sasha were in there.

Just for the record, here in Los Angeles, ABC has been running every skating competition in the wee hours of the morning for the last three Mondays (from 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM), which is just fine with me. That's what VCRs are for. Considering the core audience, I guess they're just assuming that everyone either has TIVO or a VCR at this point.

They're playing them at reasonable times here in Denver area, but opposite Football, which is fine with me. Yesterday we watched the routines and then flipped over to the game in between - as well as capturing Marshal's and the NHK on TVR.

I am hoping that Sasha does hit nats, but I feel she might not be a big contender for this one. My "less informed" friend and his buddy who was over for the event were commenting so much on Sasha and how "hot" and that she should go into acting. How ironic eh? They both commented how gorgeous they think Kimmie is going to be in the next couple of years (agree) and from their comments about Emily - and they felt uneasy saying so - that was a really sexy routine. " For a 17 year old girl that was pretty hot stuff." RS thought she lacked some emotion at the end too - and he is VERY casual viewer. IMO Oksana could learn from her on how to make a routine truly sexy. Which is pretty sad considering Emily's age.

Why in the world Evan wore that flowing thing???? Here I am commenting about him being a more masculine skater of the men and....:p the two guys I watched it with said the same thing without a comment from me at all. They even liked Johnny's outfits for they felt it fit him, but the "thing on that guy, (Evan) what is he thinking?"

They wanted to vote, and THEY like the idea, but couldn't because we only had cell phones. Tanith and Ben, and Sash were their favorites but were (we all agreed) Johnny's my way was awesome - their and my vote went to Sasha for final. I think I was so pleased to see that routine with out a fall and she really seemed into it - at least more so then Denver COI. Also I know now when she fell at COI Denver, she must have started going the wrong direction. For when she was at the point of the prog. that she fell, she went forward out of the stop.

I voted for Cohen, Weir, and Weir -- I really loved that short program and agree with the 'judges' that he should bring it back (not this year, maybe if he makes it to 2008).

Pet peeve - Peggy and 'Ave Maria' -- not being associated with male skaters -- no offense, but Jeff Buttle's was waaaaaaaaaaaay better, IMO, and he's a male.'

Overall, it was a fun event to watch.

That was a bit off on Peggy's part. If she listened it was sung by a tenor and not a soprano.

I didn't think I would warm to the odd format but I found myself enjoying the competition ... until Evan didn't make the cut ... then I became reminded that it was indeed a cheesefest.

I thought his Ave Maria was exquisite and I particularly appreciated him using the Gounod version- my personal favorite.

What has happened to Katy Taylor? She is really struggling this season-- can't seem to hit any jumps.

Did not like Kimmie's first program at all-- it looked like she was making it up as she went along. (The costume was pretty though.) Her bent over posture while stroking is really beginning to bother me and I think she might come off a bit more mature if she wore some make-up. She doesn't have to paint herself like a harlot--- but folks, skating is part show biz.

Sasha looked beautiful and the spirals are enough to watch her even if there are no jumps at all. I'm tired of Celine Dion.

Emily's Proud Mary didn't do it for me. I didn't think she captured the spirit of the music at all.

Johnny was totally "on" and really skated with attack and fire. It was great to see him do so well. My Way was particularly strong and I was reminded during the Swan program of how he completely captivated the crowd at Nats in St. Louis. You literally could have heard a pin drop in the arena during his SP.

I tried to vote but couldn't get a call to go through. I think I put a 900 block on my phone years ago when a former roommate ran up a huge bill making pay porn calls. Please note I said FORMER roommate!

I would have voted for Evan and Johnny.
