Even with a fall, Caroline Zhang's exhibition program is simply breathtaking. She has hit some incredible positions in both spins and spirals...

Wow, wow, wow. That is amazing. I can't get over the maturity she exudes -- I mean the flex is amazing, but the details - her arms, fingers, her neck, and patience (she doesn't rush) just amaze me. wow.

Okay, those videos I watched before, but this one is new. She obviously did some crazy moves in this exhibition program, simply breathtaking.

She reminds me of Arakawa.

I agree. A certain "coolness or tepidness" to her skating, despite the inspirational music "You Lift Me Up". Much like Arakawa.

Zhang's actual skating reminds me of a cross between MK and SC but the coolness of Arakawa. Beautiful choreography, but an emotional coolness, just the same. The girl is definitely a pretzel, no doubt about it, esp in those spiral sequences and spins. Funny, she fell on her lutz during the exhibition in Mexico City as well.

At 13, Caroline is even more flexible than Sasha, and nearly as mature in her presentation. At 13, Sasha finished 4th at Pacific Sectionals as an Intermediate (there was no Junior Nationals in those days).

If Sasha is planning on returning to competition in the 2008-2009 season, she's going to run smack-dab into a Caroline who is age-eligible for Worlds. If Caroline's skating survives her encounter with the puberty bug, I think she will easily best Sasha because along with consistent jumps and exquisite style, Caroline also seems to have cast-iron competition nerves.

Well not to compare with everyone and anyone, she is wonderful!! The only thing she should have done was used Josh Groban's version.

She's astounding. The only thing is, I can't help thinking she is destroying her back. But athletes will be athletes.

That was my thought! I'm not a fan of this version, but I LOVE Josh's song!

That said...this exhibition was the ONLY skating so far this season that actually had my eyes water up! WOW, wow, wow! I love how while Caroline is so flexible, and hits positions I would never thought was humanely possible, her elements don't have quite the "in-your-face!" or "look what I can do!" effect some of the more gumby skaters have. Truly an amazing skater.

I thought the same thing. I'm just hoping she'll stay healthy enough to become a Sr. Speaking of which, how soon can she move up????????????????

Caroline must take the Senior test by September 1, 2007 if she wants to move up to Seniors domestically. She can skate in the senior Grand Prix and "B" Internationals next season, but she cannot skate at any ISU senior Championship event until the 2008-2009 season.

I got chills down my spine watching that video, she's a simply breathtakingly beautiful skater. If she doesn't ruin her back with those spins I can possibly say 2010 Olympic Champion? It's to early to assume but I've never seen such an amazing talent since young Kwan. If only she can avoid injury she'd be one of the greatest ever.

Well, Caroline can't avoid puberty, which has been known to derail careers or set them off course for a few years. It happened to Cynthia Phaneuf, who's been away from competition for almost two years. She's just now coming back to Canadians.

If Caroline can survive her mid-teen growth spurts without incident and avoid overtraining injuries, she could be the next big star.
