What about Kawaguchi & Smirnov? Nice to see Biktagirova back. Hopefully if she wins a medal they will send her to at least the Euros this time.

Reportedly Sergeev suffered an injury in practice recently. I don't know what kind.

I like Sergei Dobrin to fill the space once occupied by Plushenko, although his style is more like Alexander Abt.

I like Arina Martinova to fill the space once occupied by Slutskaya, although she needs more work.

Then again, the 'old timers' Elena, Vikka and Illia just may give the competition one last hurrah.

Arkadi Sergeev (Mikhailova/Sergeev) broke his leg while in training. He will obviously be out for the rest of the season.

This is going to be a very interesting Pairs Competition. Without Olympic Champs Totmianina and Marinin. The pairs are looking mighty sucky, unfortunately

I liked Efaeva and Menshikov at Skate America. They didn't place but they had something in their Pairs that spelled special to me.
