Yeoh Freddy, quick get ahead of MM

:rollin: Our good pal MM is always boasting about being a knight with a noble heart, slaying dragons for
Lady Michelle

Look here

<img src="http://t2.technion.ac.il/~sifoi/michelle.jpg" style="border:0;"/>

You job is to compose a completed poem (please don't do a half south side of a north facing duck job) to rescue your lady. Do it quick before MM becomes real jealous and zap you again. :rollin:

Freddy let me help you kick

you know who's b*tt.

You know who said that the prettiest MK costume was TRV from 2000 world exhibition.

Wrong- I mean the TRV costume is the prettiest, but TRV was not an exhibition program in worlds 2000.

In world 2000 exhibition, MK was wearing this pretty costume skating to Hands.

web.tiscali.it/MFGallery/...age2l.html

MK skated to TRV first time as an exhibition in worlds 1999. Her TRV costume looked like this:
sportsillustrated.cnn.com...all_01.jpg

Now who was willing to put himself under a train for a gold medal for his lady?

Sixteen little Michelles to inspire me!

OK, this is going to take some thought.

This will take some care.

Don't worry about Mathman, he's out of his league on this. Can't tell 1999 from 2000 -- some dragonslayer!

I'll get back to you.

Unfinished symphonies

Freddy, little Michelles may not be as inspirational as three dimensional Michelles.

Are you able to ID the programs and the events?

Here she is pretty in pink

1. members.fcc.net/alaynew/mkf/np.jpg

2. web.tiscali.it/MFGallery/...age2l.html

3. disney.auctions.go.com/Im...12079a.jpg

4. scroll down to the third picture (talk about illusion fabric)

Gorgeous in purple/garnet

I think this is my favorite MK costume, unfortunately, I don’t have the program on tape, sigh….

So what happened to your Ode to Illusion Fabric poem? In unfinished REM land? I assume Pig 2 also has a REM stage in their sleep architecture?

Re: Unfinished symphonies

Well, this is sort of like a take-home quiz -- my favorite kind. All the answers are right there on the captions, heh heh. Except picture number 1. Hmmm. I'll come back to that.

#2. Hands, 2000 Worlds exhibition.

#3. Disney special #2, the Music of Disney.

#4. Beautiful World, Canadian Open, 2000.

#5. Easy of Eden, Masters of Figure Skating, 2001.

Now about picture #1. Michelle was pretty in pink in On My Own and in Beautiful World, but I don't think this off-the-should costume is either of these. If this is from the Michelle Kwan Forum, they have changed the picture recently. How about another hint?

About my new poem, I haven't got the hook yet. Can't rush the muse, you know. Still working.

Freddy ;)

Take home exams

<blockquote><strong><em>Quote:</em></strong><hr>Well, this is sort of like a take-home quiz -- my favorite kind. All the answers are right there on the captions, heh heh. Except picture number 1. Hmmm. I'll come back to that.
I love to see students succeed. BTW, Freddy, 9 times out of 10 success means trying and showing up. I assume you are a very young pig.

<blockquote><strong><em>Quote:</em></strong><hr>If this is from the Michelle Kwan Forum, they have changed the picture recently. How about another hint
No, you have to go to their polling folder to see this picture. I love this pretty pink costume, unfortunately this is the only pix of this dress I can find. Give you some hint, no problem. If I can talk your main rival MM through solving the stories of the 20th century violinists, Heifetz, Milstein, Oistrakh and Kogan, I can talk you through this pink costume. This was a costume for a short program, and your sweet heart won bronze in that competition.

<blockquote><strong><em>Quote:</em></strong><hr>Michelle was pretty in pink in On My Own
Well, I asked you to scroll down to the third picture with the Beautiful world costume. MK was pretty in egg shell color costume for On my Own. The pictures shown looked pink, but it wasn't pink.

Now Freddy, you have to do something for me, I have been trying to search for a picture of MK pretty in dusty pink worlds 03 sp costume, but I haven't found any yet. Are you able to help?

MM, how does it feel to have Freddy kicking your b*tt? Don't worry, here is some nice music for you, Fumie's Sanctus program. Scroll down and listen to sample 2. I am sure your other favorite lady Lori chose the music and choreographed this one.

Re: Take home exams

As if by divine intervention, BravesSkateFan just posted this link on the Edge:

www.scratchspin.com/skaters/mkwan.shtml

There she is, pretty in pink in the first picture.

And here is a beautiful picture of the 2003 dusty pink, as requested:

www.scratchspin.com/2003/...kwan1.html

Speaking of illusion fabric, if you scoll down to the fourth picture on the page above (the blue-with-oatmeal LP dress)...In reality, her costume goes all the way up to her neck, right? Anything else is just fantasy on the part of the spectator. Right?

And finally, here's my guess about pretty in pink. Skate Canada, 2001, SP (East of Eden):

www.scratchspin.com/2001/...kwan1.html

Mathman

PS. I couldn't get to the pictures in your last two links. Is there a backdoor?

<blockquote><strong><em>Quote:</em></strong><hr>In reality, her costume goes all the way up to her neck, right? Anything else is just <strong>fantasy </strong> on the part of the spectator. Right?
Forum Psychologist Certified by Cinquanta (Joesitz) and Dr. Watson (expert on Kohut) deal with <span style="color:maroon;font-size:medium;">fantasies</span> I prefer to to deal with a brain (temporal lobe) phenonemon like visual hallucination.

<span style="color:navy;font-size:x-small;">According to the Lexicon of psychiatry, neurology and neuroscience, by Ayd 2nd edition, p 478: Hallucination is a vivd perceptual experience that occurs in the absence of relevant sensory stimulus</span>

So Herr Doktor MM, were you in fantasy land or were you seeing things that others did not see?

Another picture: Ella or Memorex, or Michelle or Illusion?

Re: MM, something blue

To Eltamina, I'll go with "I wish they all could be California girls," from an early COI.

And "Rondo Capriccioso," her 1994-95 long program.

From the Care2 site, is Michelle taking illusion to new heights?

pictures.care2.com/view/2/291242597

To emiC, so let me see if I understand this. <em>Hallucination</em> is when I see Michelle leaning over my shoulder right now while I'm typing this. <em>Delusion</em> is when I think that Michelle and I are old friends who hang out together frequently.

<em>Fantasy</em> is where Michelle is queen of the planet Zeton and I am called upon to defend her from the invading robo-trolls from outer space. Is that it?

Prettiest and most athletic & no illusion in pink

I wish Michelle is doing this move (kind of a cross between a split falling leaf and stag jump) in her competitive programs.

Anyway, she is prettiest in this pink, and there is no illusion.

www.geocities.com/SouthBe...icover.jpg

Just to complete all her pretty in pink costume: In that copy of sports illustrated was a pix of a 12 y/o CUTE Michelle in a long sleeve pink dress. She was so cute, and tiny.

One more costume in pink, her 1993 lp, the season that she won the Olympic festival.

Can you think of any more pretty in pink Michelles?

Now onto the next color....

hallucinations v illusions & delusions v highly valued i

MM, usually <span style="color:red;font-size:small;">hallucinations</span> are contrast & compared to <span style="color:green;font-size:small;">illusions</span>, and <span style="color:red;font-size:small;">delusions</span> are contrast & compared to <span style="color:green;font-size:small;">highly valued ideas</span>, one is <span style="color:red;font-size:small;">pathological</span> the other could be <span style="color:green;font-size:small;">within normal limits</span>.

From the Bantam medical dictionary

Illusion: a false perception due to misinterpretation of the stimuli arising from an object

<blockquote><strong><em>Quote:</em></strong><hr>Hallucination is when I see Michelle leaning over my shoulder right now while I'm typing this.
That is correct, you have a visual perception of Michelle in the absence of the real stimulus.

<span style="color:green;font-size:x-small;">Illusion is when you look at the MK spiral poster (real visual stimulus), e.g. in the middle of the night under dim light and perceive that she is really present and smiling at you </span> i.e. you misinterpret the stimulus.

<blockquote><strong><em>Quote:</em></strong><hr>Delusion is when I think that Michelle and I are old friends who hang out together frequently.
That is only correct, if your <strong>false</strong> belief is <strong>fixed</strong>, i.e. no one can change your mind about this. If someone can convince you into doubting this belief then by definition it is not fixed, therefore not a delusion.

Another example of delusions v highly valued ideas: If you think that the Red Wings are the best hockey team ever skated on ice, the Duck fans may say that you are delusional, but you may claim it is just a highly valued idea. :rollin:

<blockquote><strong><em>Quote:</em></strong><hr>Fantasy is where Michelle is queen of the planet Zeton and I am called upon to defend her from the invading robo-trolls from outer space. Is that it?
No comment, I do not deal with fantasies you have to call Joe or Dr. Watson about that. :rollin:

PS
<strong>MM, you are scary, you remember the delusion discussion from mos ago?</strong>

Re: hallucinations v illusions & delusions v highly valu

EmiC, my mother (age 89) suffers from/enjoys the following delusion. She thinks that Sarah Hughes came in second at Skate America 2002. The reason that believes this is because she saw her skate (Mom did see the ladies finals) and she saw Sarah up on the podium receiving her medal. Sarah looked very beautiful skating in a flowing pink gown. No amount of arguing by my sister and me can convince her otherwise, not even the three of us watching the tape of the event together.

I can't figure out if this is a delusion, or just ornery stuborness, or taking a stand on the position that children should listen in respectful silence when their mother is telling them something, or if she is just pulling our leg. Should we be concerned?

Mom's other delusion is about Michelle. She thinks that Michelle is just on loan to us from heaven. From time to time Michelle comes down here to skate, in order to give us poor mortals a glimpse and a preview of paradise.

thanks for sharing a cute story

<blockquote><strong><em>Quote:</em></strong><hr>or if she is just pulling our leg.
Your mom has an excellent sense of humor. :) IIRC in SA 02, 3 of you shared 2 event tix or 4 of you shared 3 event tix, so someone is not attending every competition??? Did any ungrateful children cheat their mom? MM, maybe it is payback time. :rollin: :rollin:

I thought that is <strong>your</strong> belief, so your mom shares the same belief

from heaven.

What is the term for that???? Folie a ____??? On second thought, many Michelle fans share that belief so it must be Folie a <span style="color:maroon;font-size:medium;">Global Village</span>??

PS I found the perfect animation for Michelle's visit to earth (be patient the animation takes a long time to load)

Re: Folie

That's so pretty. Or is that Lu Chen doing the Butterfly Lovers?

The ticket thing (3 tickets for 4 people) worked out like this. Mom and I got to see the whole show, my brother had to leave in the middle and let my sister-in-law see the finale. (I was the prodigal son since I have to come from out of town, so I deserve the fatted calf, right?)

You will be proud of me. I did my homework:

"Folie a deux (shared psychotic disorder) is a phenomenologically fascinating entity. This entity was described as folie communiquee in 1860 by Jules Baillarger and as folie a deux in 1877 by Ernest Charles Lasegue and Jules Farlet (Manschreck,2000). Folie imposee, folie simultanee, folie communiquee and folie induite are the four subtypes of folie a deux. Folie imposee is the commonest form in which the dominant person imposes a delusion into a younger passive person. Separation of the two would result in improvement of the recipient. On the other hand, in folie simultanee, delusional system emerges simultaneously and independently in two closely related persons and the separation would not be beneficial in the resolution of psychopathology. After adopting the content of the delusion of the primary, in folie communiquee, the recipient, in an independent manner, goes on elaborating it further. In folie induite, one patient influences another person who has already been hospitalized (Sacks,1988 ) . The commonest diagnosis in the primary is schizophrenia, followed by delusional disorder and mood disorder (Silveria and Seeman,1995). In comparison to the delusions, hallucinations are rarely being induced (World Health Organisation,1992; Silveria and Seeman,1995). Herein, we describe phenomenological variations in a case of folie communiquee and discuss the consequent diagnostic difficulties."

So mine is folie communiquee. Mom (the dominant and senior partner) likes Michelle, so I took that and carried it to ridiculous extremes.:)

Mathman (spellcheck offers "madman" for Mathman).

Michelle likes desert

Since Michelle likes desert

Here are some MK pix that is ymmy, tasty and delicious

1. Healthy desert: raspberry from 2001 worlds

2. Light as vanilla ice cream, from 1999 COI, one more time program

www-tech.mit.edu/V119/N21/Kwan.jpg

3. The minute maid/ cheetos costume from 2001 world short program EOE. I can't find a pix, but that is the most delicious of all.

PS Yaw Freddy, look at this picture, sexy eyes, sexy lips. You need to tell your good friend MM, that this picture was taken by one of the MKF people who attended the view, so there is no air brush, just spontaneous beauty.

LOL, I went overboard with links to her raspberry dress at 2001 worlds, thanks Michelle for the fond memories. The air line lost her luggage, the heel of her her skating boot was broken minutes before the qualifying round, and she came through with poise and grace.

PS: <span style="color:red;font-size:x-small;">Freddy, these are Corbis pix, I am surprise that they allow right click to save picture? I haven't tried it yet. What do you think? </span>

You can download them, but they have that Corbis watermark. You have to pay to get the real picture without the mark (and I think it's bigger and with better resolution, too.)
