    Pairs LP report

    Khokova/Sljusarenko

    2Tw
    2R
    5Li 1 hand
    Th2S fall
    SpSt easy, but good flow
    FiDs
    5Li
    Th2R
    He fell on FSp entry
    2F+2F
4Li (hip is group 4, right?)
    SlSt

Thus speak Zarathustra + James Bond theme. Very weak, the elements are mostly basic level and aren’t that well done either. They shouldn’t have pick up so powerful music, it only highlights their problems.

    42.14/39.55=-2=79.69 to 123.47

    Kazutits/Rosljakov

    2A+2R
    2Tw
    3S, not sure about her
    Th3R
    5Li 1 hand
    5Li 1 hand slow
FCSp out of unison, but recovered
    SpSt, good flow
FiDs with change of hold and position
    Th3S, poss ur
    3Li brief 1hand
SlSt 8 shape pattern in the beginning
    PCoSp

As good as it gets. Nowhere near the top teams, but kudos for them for skating up to their potential. They should be proud of themselves. Well done.

    52.20/43.96=96.16 to 142.31

    Sheremetieva/Kuznetsov

    Th3S step out
    3Tw tight catch
    Th2R
    4Li changes of pose
SpSt come to dead stop in the middle while trying to hold the postions long enough
    5Li 1 hand, 1 hand dismount
    FCSp
    2L hops 2F
    5Li 1 hand
FiDs, delayed entry, change of hold
    PCoSp

Cirqus theme. By far the best choreography and presentation skills of all the teams here. Should have gotten much higher PCS. A nice Junior-level team, but it remains to be seen if they could upgrade the jumping content of their programs, their pair elements look solid enough already.

    46.87/42.35=89.22 to 136.85

    Bazarova/Larionov

    3Tw out dance lift
    Th3R hand down
2A she hand down and poss ur
    5Li reverse rotation
    FCoSp
    5Li 1 hand
    2R+2T
    SpSt
    Th3S
BiDs change of hold, well done
    4Li
    SlSt
    PCoSp

She is a very weak jumper, even the 2T isn’t that good. A shame because they are rather strong at pair skating elements. Lifts have good speed and ice coverage. Excellent twist, I was sure it was double, because I thought “no way they could do a 3 so well”, but they did… They need to improve the presentation, though.

    46.25/42.36=88.61 to 137.53

    Bakirova/Patlasov

    3Tw
    2R
    5Li 1 hand
Th3R poss ur and hand down
    2F+2F
FCoSp out of unison and she fell out of the final position
    PcOsp
    SpSt
    4Li 1 hand, good
    Th3S, step out, fall
    SlSt
    5Li 1 hand
    Ds

Finished ahead of the music. Phantom of the Opera. Good flow, but that’s about all. Good lifts too.

    44.34/39.37=-2=81.81 to 131.27

    Esich/Babkin

    2R
    2Tw
    2F+2F
    Th3F, or toe…
    5Li
    FCoSp good unison
    Th3R stepout hand
    SpSt
    5Li
    3Li
    SlSt
    FiDs
    PCoSp

Weaker pair elements than teams before them, rather bland as well… did not deserve the 2nd place.

    Mukhortova/Trankov

    3T+2T
    2Tw
    2A she fell
    5Li out of spreadeagle
    Th3R
FiDs out of spreadeagle, change of hold
    PCoSp
    Th3S fall
    4Li 1 hand
    FCSp out of unison
    SlSt 8 pattern, poor speed
    SpSt
    5Li

The music is too heavy for them, I think they cannot really relate to it, however, the performance was much better than either of their GP events. They had a 10 points lead after SP and I think they will remain first… I don’t think either Obe/Sla or Efa/Men can skate that much better.

    55.05/57.02=-2=110.07 to 173.57

    Obertas/Slavnov

    3T she popped
    3Tw
2A she singled, he step out
    Th3F
    5Li with reverse rotation
    FCoSp good unison
    Th3R
    Li
    PCoSp
    SlSt she stumbled, but recovered
    4Li with very laboured entry

Well, they messed the jumps, but it seems that they have “fixed” the throws, both were very well done. Good program for them, but did it really end with such powerful music (Carmina Burana?) before? Anyway, they also improved compared to GP events… Good luck for them in the future.

    50.98/55.19-106.17 to 159.64

    Efaeva/Menshikov

    3S she fell and ur
    2Tw
    Th3R
    2A out of unison + 2A
    5Li 1 hand
    PCoSp
    SpSt
    Th3S
    BoDs change of hold
    5Li 1 hand, 1 hand dismount
FCoSp she traveled away from him
    4Li
    SlSt

In terms of attack and commitment it was by far the best performance of the three. Really well done. A pity about mistake of salchow… I suppose it would cost them silver. But they skated really well here.

    50.36/50.29=-1=99.95 to 153.61\

    Ushakova/Karev

    2Tw
    Th3R fall
    3T she might have 2
    SpSt
    Th3S
    2R+2R
5Li with carry and reverse rotation
5Li nearly on one spot with no speed
    FCoSp
    3Li 1 hand
    Ds change of hold
    PCoSp

Rather weak overall. No speed, no lines, elements are so-so as well… but I guess they skated on their level.

    46.49/50.39=-1=95.88 to 146.68

looks like Russian federation chairman is determined to get rid of O&S. Two falls by M&T and they still scored 4 points higher than O&S?

    Come on.

Obertas did not do 3T at all. It is worth than fall if jump was done. In addition, O without 2 axel.
