    Canada 1, U.S. 1

The U.S. Women's Curling Team won the world championship yesterday, beating Canada. This is the first world championship for a U.S. team in this sport. (Curling = the National Sport of the U.S.A.!)

Mike Weir of Ontario won the Master's golf tournament, beating a bunch of U.S. golfers, including Tiger Woods (the Michelle Kwan of golf). This is the first time a Canadian has won this prestigious title. Oh, Canada!

Everyone is going crazy up here over Weir. Good for him. As for the curling, sigh, what a bummer for Colleen Jones, who I believe is a felolw Nova Scotian.

WE, the US, won the world championships of curling? Was it the real thing, or the curling iron kind??? LOL, sorry, that just is surprising as heck! My best friend lives in Scotland (the home of curling)...I'll see if he's impressed with us! Kasey
