    Debating Styles Good or Bad?

Should a debate be civil or should it be mean spirited, in order to take your opponent down?

Civil. If you want to take your opponent down, use a billy club.

What is the desired outcome. Destruction or growth? If the desire is to take them down, no need for debate, just kill them or not listen in the first place.

Your skill in debate is directly proportional to how well you keep your temper. You can only level an opponent verbally if you keep your cool enough to plan your words well.
