It's club show season in the U.S. and I'm compiling a list of club and benefit shows taking place across the country in order to publicize them among skating fans who might like to attend a show in their area and support the local skating clubs and/or various charitable causes. I believe more people will see this thread here in The Edge, which is why I posted here rather than in the Announcements forum.

This list is by no means complete, but I have tried to include shows that I know about that feature "name" skaters, such as senior and junior international and/or national competitors.

Coming up this weekend and early next week...

Bowling Green, Ohio on Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21:
"Ice Horizons" starring Alissa Czisny, Amber Czisny, and Melissa Telecky -- for more info: http://www.icehorizons.org/

Larchmont, New York on Saturday, April 21 at 6:30 pm:
"Edges for Education" is a figure skating exhibition to benefit the Literacy Center at Boys & Girls Harbor - for more info, go to: http://edgesforeducation.com/index.html
List of performing skaters include 2007 World Junior champ Stephen Carriere and 2007 U.S. Nationals skaters Juliana Cannarozzo, Michelle Boulos, Kylie Gleason, Liz Miosi & Dmitry Ponomarev and Curran Oi, and show co-organizers Katrina Hacker and Jenny Bloom - full cast list at: http://edgesforeducation.com/_wsn/page3.html

2003 Nationals senior ladies' competitor Krissa Miller and fellow senior Courtney Osborn are co-chairing a new charity show called “Dreams for a Cure” in the 1932 Arena at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, NY. A $5 donation is requested and there will also be a Raffle and Silent Auction.
"This is the first in what we hope to be an annual event to raise money for cancer research ... This year the area for the proceeds to be donated is the Susan B. Koman Foundation. Please contact Krissa Miller at 518-523-6493 if you are interested in helping with this fundraiser."

Thanks to Sylvia, I went back to IceNet and watched Rohene in his Regional contest. Unbelieveable. What a beautiful skater he is when he hits. Watch it, if you haven't already.

Here's a tidbit on Rohene Ward's performance last weekend:
icesk8r said:
I went to the "Books and Blades" show in Minneapolis last night [4/28]. ...
Rohene skated last to "I Believe (I Can Fly)." He cut his hair just a bit and straightened it. He wore a white shirt with sleeves that faded into blue, and blue pants. He landed a beautiful triple loop and triple toe in his program and did another triple toe in the finale. Spins and spirals were great as usual.

I'm hoping Rohene has his breakthrough this year at Nats. Too bad he is not eligible for GPs. It would be niced if the USFS would let him be the third man at SA.

Triple loop in a show! wow.
