Thanking U.S. military services for defending our freedom

Please visit the Department of Defense web page below and sign in thanking the men and women of the U.S. military services for defending our freedom. The compiled list of names will be sent out to our soldiers at the end of the month. So far, there are only about 2.9 million names. What a shame...... National Military Appreciation Month.
The entire exercise takes 10 seconds...literally.
Please pass it on to your email friends.

Re: Thanking the U.S. military services for defending our fr

Manny, Thanks for the link.

Now I just wish George Bush would sign!

His latest help to our military is:
1. Removed funding for schools that military kids go to
2. Raising the copay on drugs and visits to the V.A. for
all veterans
3. Proposing cancellation of V.A. health benefits for veterans making over $24K
4. Supported ban on VA personnel advertising what the health benefits are for veterans.

Not very good support, I think.

How do I know? My husband is a veteran of the Vietnam War era.

Thanks for posting the link, mmandel.

I made sure to not only sign the thank you list - I sent the link to family and friends. And reminded them that my son is on active duty because of this war on terrorism.

Now, where do we sign the list that tells Bush to slow down on this war with Iraq business...........?

Always a good thing to support our Armed Forces, but I don't see where our freedoms are in jeopardy. During wars, we lose many of our freedoms, most likely necessary. More important, we thank the Armed Forces for defending us against an attack.

Hey Joe,

To be perfectly honest, I think Bush and Rumsfeld and company are the worst threat to our freedoms at the moment.

I'm not willing to give those jokers a free ride when they would happily rip the Bill of Rts. to shreds.

That said, I still think we should support our military personnel. Fighting or not, they are making sacrifices in their own lives and families because they believe they are defending freedom. They don't make the policies or decisions, but they are the men and women whose lives are on the line. Come to think of it, the citizens of Iraq have a lot in common with our military - they are on the front line of a war they don't want and have no voice in.

I just found out that my sister-in-law is being deployed tomorrow to Saudi Arabia. She's a payroll specialist. She's been sent to the Middle East before. The sad part is that she's got two small boys and she's expected to be gone for about half a year. That's a long time when your kids are small........ :( 42

Johio - Ita on your thoughts. And don't forget the Home Security Act which is not unlike the old House Unamerican Activities Act. McCarthey would be happy with this one too. It's time to spy on your neighbors. Be careful if someone who looks a bit swarthy. What's going on in that Mosque?

Now the Airlines are making dossiers on individual travellers and coding them with different colors!

The Nazis imprisoned the gypsies first; then the homos; then the Jews; then the catholic dissidents; and soon what was left was living in fear. Did the system work? Of course not.
