well... you go with what you know works... *Shrugs* he's not doing anything the rest of the skaters aren't... and that's what the judges seem to reward.

Johnny has his new music up too!!!

http://www.figureskatersonline.com/johnnyweir/journal.html

I have never heard of either of these pieces. At least he has some originalty.
I thought I would bring them to the forefront:

programs

2007-2008

SHORT PROGRAM

Music: "Yunona I Avos"
Artist: Svetlana Pikous
Choreographer: Faye Kitarieva

FREE SKATE

Music: "Love is War "
Artist: Globus
Choreographer: Denis Petukhov

One thing about Johnny, he goes forth with the music. I'm anxious to see what Denis can do for him.

Is the music a variation of the music that Johnny used for exhibition?

It's gotta be. Svetlana will provide a piano version. There's however no way to know, which piece of that 'opera' she will use, since it's some lengthy production.

google says, Svetlana is a member of the San Diego Music Teachers Association of California:

as well as a member of a formation called 'Hargo':

My guess is, she's friends with Kitarieva.

Thanks Gio - I just watched the video. Johnny is a very special skater! He has it all: flow; musicality, interpretation, feeling, body language,. I think it is all coming back. Only Lambiel will be comparable to him. the others will have to just outjump him.

Is the music an opera? I never heard of it before.

I like the exebition.. not sure how it would sound on piano though. Johnny has done some good stuff with Otonal ( i think his masterpice) on piano... so this sounds like it has potential.

Per his official Web site, Nicholas LaRoche will skate to "Fiesta Flamenca" for his short program. He will use his "Unchained Melody" free skate from last season again.

i saw him skating Fiesta Flamenca in practice. Amazingly beautiful music. he really goes a good job with it too. Unchained Melody is a favorite of mine too.

Wow, it seems that Tatiana Tarasova has choreographed her SP.
Mao also mentioned that she wanted to win Japanese National and World next year and would like to show new style of her skating.

I'm not sure how reliable the source is, but the music is amazingly beautiful, and I hope this is her sp. Did you notice how many times she mentioned Yu-Na? I wish I could speak Japanese!

Thanks for the link.
She never metioned Yu-Na's name in the news clip. :)
She usually doesn't mention other skaters unless she is asked about them.
