saying something about Kurt Browning knocking up Scott Hamilton's wife is something a lot of people take to be offensive. It was unnessecery... don't see anything CONFUSING about that

HBFan, Fetal's comment was an attempt to be funny that fell completely flat, but his intent is evident by his tone. He has been offensive before on the subject of religion (and a few other subjects), but he got bounced for proposing a Swiftian eugenic solution to providing male skaters of talent in North America. (For those who don't like ancient satire, Jonathon Swift, when not being charming about Gulliver and Lilliput, suggested in a satire that the Irish eat their excess children as a solution to the potato famine.)

Frankly, I find those posters who want to tell me how hot underage teens look much more offensive than this failed joke of Fetal. (the kiddy porn issue).

Hopefully Fetal will take his more PG (this suggestion didn't even rate an R) attempts to Uncensored Forum when he returns.

When a forum has 1000 members, it stands to reason some number of them will be more easily offended than one might expect.

Quote:
This entire discussion is RIDICULOUS because it would take Fetal about 5 minutes to toodle on over to someone else's computer and re-register under a different user name and lurk during his hand slapping period. Believe me, he's here![/quote] I don't think these threads were meant to be in any way "confidential". You don't have to make another account to view a board you've been banned at. You just don't log in and you can read everything (unless the board can be viewed only by registered users). I log in only when I know I'm going to write something. If I don't have time I don't bother.

Since each computer has an IP address, I'll bet Paula has a way to ban any given IP address from accessing Goldenskate.

yet you'd allow under age teens to be subjected to the type of comments that are just gross?

funny or not it wasn't needed.

Plus, IP banning is not perfect, some people's IP changes.

I miss fetal... His educated/slanted humor and interesting topics were a lot of the reasons that I came over here frequently to read.

There are posters at other boards whose comments I simply do not like...so I do not read them.
