I think Bebe is aware of the Zhang/Nagasu threat to Senior Ladies and will come out full blast at US Nats. She's overdo for a worlds try.

I saw Bebe land a great 3/3 in practice.... but i had no idea she was so serious about landing them in competition. I am really excited for her... i hope that she can pull it togther by nationals, she was so good and solid in practice.
I can't belive Danille was placed ahead.... bebe was clearly the winner on practice ice!

Bebe won the Ladies event at the Silicon Valley Open, but her scores weren't outstanding: 43.26 SP, 89.12 FS and 132.38 overall. She fell on the 3/3 attempt in both programs. I'm sure she will improve her marks as the season moves along. Let's see how she does in international competition at CoC and CoR.

BTW, Rachael Flatt won the Broadmoor (59.00 SP, 82.52 FS [injury], 141.52 overall), Liberty (49.96 SP, 107.19 FS, 157.15 overall) and Colorado Championships (no scores available). Rachael attempted the 3Z3T in her Broadmoor SP and Liberty SP and FS and got credit for it in the Broadmoor SP and Liberty FS.

Of course, Rachael won't be able to go to Worlds because she is too young. BeBe has a chance to go, but she has to be able to land her jumps at the US Championships.

I wonder why Bebe doesn't try 3lutz3 toe. Wouldn't that be easier to land?

Maybe she finds it easier to land the 3something-3R rather than the 3something-3T.

That's one of the faults with the CoP scoring system. Who says a lutz is more difficult than a flip? Probably on average but when I skated, the lutz was a piece of cake, and the flip was a very scary jump for me. That back inside edge was tough! So in CoP, I would have a little advantage today. Fair? you figure.

I may be able to attend on Saturday and possibly Friday night. If so, I'll definitely post a report. There's no senior mens on the actual event schedule - only on the competitors listing, so it lmay have been pulled.

Bebe's worst jump is the lutz.. and judging from practice sessions she is really comfortable with the loop. Therefore, flip/loop makes sense for her.

Did you go to Skate Chautauqua, PAskate? If yes, any comments on the skating?

Taylor Firth scored well here (better than at Liberty), with 46.33 in the Senior Ladies SP and 89.46 (with 2 deductions) in the FS. Link to IJS results:

I hope Taylor Firth gets a JGP assignment. Those scores would have put her on the podium in the 2006 JGP.

I saw her skate at Middle Atlantics last year, and she is quite good but she is also erratic.
