JGP Schedule

Is there a schedule posted anywhere yet? I want to make hotel reservations but need to see the schedule first.

Thanks for the schedule. I doubt getting tickets will be a problem but is there any information on ticket sales?

It's a 5 hour drive from NYC in 'no traffic' and 6 by bus. Think about that.

BTW. Anyone going, hope we hear a report from you.

I will be going to Lake Placid for this event. I just hope they rearrange the Sunday schedule because as it stands, the Ladies FS starts at 5:30 pm and there are 26 ladies. I plan to leave to drive home right after the ladies; it's a minimum 6 hour drive.

It's the only JGP event in North America this season, and also the only non-European JGP event.

Looks like the Russians are once again throwing away their competitive opportunities. Just one man, no lady, and one dance team. I'm also surprised that the Japanese are sending just one man.

The US ladies are looking very strong. Mirai is the reigning World silver medalist. Alexe Gilles won the Liberty Junior event, and Angela Maxwell won the Skate Detroit Junior event; both ladies scored over 90 points in their FS final. Internationally, both Alexe and Angela have already medaled: Alexe silver at the Challenge Cup in March, and Angela gold in the Novice event at the same competition.

The season is starting in just 4 weeks and 2 days. I can hardly wait!

I am only familiar with the american entries, so if anybody thinks a non-ameican skater has potential, please post.

I think this will be Steenberg's ultimatum on whether to get with it or not. He's up against Kanalakan.

The three ladies should be interesting with Mirai sailing by Gilles and Maxwell, but who will place between Gilles and Maxwell. We'll see.

I only recognize Paetsch and Nuss.

Hubbell and Hubbell should walk all over the competition. But one never knows, Does one.

On the German Figure Skating Corner we have created Profiles with Photos for the German Skaters:

Chris http://www.eiskunstlauf-ecke-forum.de/viewtopic.php?t=2966
Ashley & Ben http://www.eiskunstlauf-ecke-forum.de/viewtopic.php?t=3071

I think Ashley & Benji might do really well here. They are a beautiful team and are currently one of the best if not the best Junior Dance Team in Germany.

As for the three singles skaters...its their first ever JGP, so I hope they just go out there and have fun!

thanks Sandra - they all look good in their photos. I noticed Chris trains with Priscilla Hill and from his photo he may be a Johnny Weir-like.

Miruku Matsushita's debut in Lake Placid makes me curious.
Miruku is the phonetic transplant of Milk into Japanese.
(Chinese ideogramatic charactors are given: Mi=future, ru=lapis, ku=scarlet)
I've sometimes heard this name for puppies, kittens, and bunnies, quite cute when pronounced in Japanese tonality, but first time as a name of a human girl !

I've never seen her skate, don't know her potential, but have a copy of a weblog of what she was like on a local TV show.

Milk-- In black mini-skirted leotard.
Reporter: "How long do you practice every day?"
Milk: "Well, about five thirty to ten thirty."
Milk: "Other skaters may train more, but I'll keep my style."
Reporter: "Won't you teach me any of the easiest competition techniques? "
Milk: "Hmm you won't make it."
Milk-- Shows her donut spin.
Milk-- Shows her double axel.
Milk-- Teaches the regular TV members how to jump.
Milk-- Skates her program.
