I plan to make a private list of abbreviations that appear in this forum for my Japanese friends.
(There are quite many readers of GS forum in my country, though few are visible on the board.)

Could someone kindly correct the wrong and add the missings to the following?

b/c = because
BTW = by the way
ETA = edited to add
IIRC = if I recall/remember correctly
ITA = I totally agree
IMHO = in my honest/humble opinion
IMO = in my opinion
LOL = laughing out loud
OMG = Oh my God
OTOH = on the other hand
TBA = to be announced
TBD = to be determined

Thank you so much, in advance.

Oh thank you.
I forgot about AFAIK.

Yesterday I saw BOT which I couldn't figure out at all, that's the second time happening. (The first was LOL, LOL.)

I just did a search and BOT is supposed to be "back on topic". Hope that helps!
I can't think of any others used frequently in general here although there are PLENTY more abbreviations used all over the net!

BOT = Back on topic. (But OT = off topic.)

Where is Seanibu when we need him, LOL. Seanibu used to make up his own crazy abbreviations and no one could figure them out. :laugh:

Please, please, please try to coax them into posting. We would love to have more of an international presence on Golden Skate. :agree:

ETA: I see NJSk8fan beat me to it.

OK, I'll add this one: NJ = New Jersey. Sk8 = skate. ;)

Thanks! :)

Is there an abbreviation for Olympics or Olympic games?
So not OGM (medal/medalist).
Oly will do?

SA = Skate America
CoR = Cup of Russua

ROTFLMAO is "(so fummy that) coffee(tea) boils on my navel" in Japan.

So, revised as follows. Thank you all.

AFAIK = as far as I know
b/c = because
BOT = back on topic
BTW = by the way
ETA = edited to add
IIRC = if I recall/remember correctly
ITA = I totally agree
IMHO = in my honest/humble opinion
IMO = in my opinion
JMO = just my opinion
LMAO = laughing my a** off
LOL = laughing out loud
OGM = Olympic Gold Medalist
Olys = Olympics, Olympic games
OMG = Oh my God
OT = off topic
OTOH = on the other hand
TBA = to be announced
TBD = to be determined

Proper nouns are mostly used in Japan too, but perhaps followings need to be mentioned.

BOI = Blades on Ice magazine
FSU = Figure Skating Univers
GS = Golden Skate
IFS = International Figure Skating magazine

I missing all thease great birthdays, and was relishing in Kimmie for the Skate America. Working a little on video of JW but it is easy to be distracted with a very loving new girlfriend. Not saying it has all been roses, but it is fast and full of love. We'll see where this love goes. 12 years and a differnts in culture is quite a San San (moutain) to make the jorny on.

Mom is accatuly doing good with dia.............( I don't have spell cjheck on this comp, some know) she is doing good with it but seems tat she is going to be on it for good, but the times a less and it is getting easier for her.
