Wow, if V&M can hold on to the silver(they've got less than two points to spare but if they can do it) they should make the GPF over M&T; 2nd & 5th place finishes overrides 3rd & 4th. Assuming D&D then win bronze anyway.

No they won't because that will only get them 20 points whereas Mclaughlin and Brubaker, if they finish 4th place or higher, they can beat V/M for the final spot

S&S were the class of the field today. No one came close.

They should be after their 2 previous GPs. Between D&D and S&S they will push off 2 teams from the podium with no additional points for themselves. I know it's legal but is it Fair?

No it is not, imo. This is figure skating where Fair is sometimes very questionable. That said, they must of been flawless with that score.

I don't have a complaint about having two seeds at a GP event. But at NHK, there are three seeds.

The original Pairs seeds (with Shen/Zhao out) were:
1. Pang / Tong
2. Savchenko / Szolkowy
3. Volosozhar / Morozov
4. Zhang / Zhang
5. Dube / Davison
6. Inoue / Baldwin (withdrew from their events, including NHK).

Since NHK already had a 1-3 seed, Volosozhar/Morozov, it was reasonable to replace I/B with Dube / Davison, another 4-6 seed. But adding still another 1-3 seed went too far and shouldn't have been allowed.

The ISU needs to address the Pairs issue and come up with different rules for Pairs. The "Seasons Best" rule discriminates against new pairings and against Pairs who have missed large portions of the previous season due to injury.
