I have a question that I am hoping someone with business savy can help me with. My son owns a small pizza take-out and delivery service. Can he sell packages cookies like "Famous Amos" at the check-out stand? He'd pick them up wholesale and resell them at a profit. He has a business license, vendor permit, and Fed. number. Thanks............42

AFAIK, there is no problem with doing that. At the cafe I worked in that was associated with a skating club, we bought things like candy (M&Ms, for example) and resold them. I think the only way you can get in trouble is if you take things out of the package and attempt to pass them off as your own product. For example, at the cafe I work in now, we make our own baked goods except for yeast doughs and laminate doughs (like croissants.) We don't make a huge deal out of buying those elsewhere, but we can't say that we make them.
