Thanks so much for the wonderful videos!

I'm wondering whether you captured any pairs' programs, especially Evora/Ladwig & Moscovitch/Moscovitch?

The LP's take a long time to upload.

Here's Alissa Czisny skating to Dr. Zhivago in her LP

:rock::clap::agree: Thank you, thank you, thank you to you and Mr. Ski :rock:

I love Alissa's LP:love: How was her SP? Does it look the same as last year? I really hope this event boosts her confidence and helps her out in the long run.

Thank you again for all the videos!! I as well as many others greatly appreciate them:bow::rock::clap:

Here's Viktor Pfeifer's LP. Viktor has him some serious fans at Liberty, including a gorgeous blonde who had Viktor written on her cheek. You can hear them cheering for him on this vid.
He has some serious flaws too, but he has a lot of talent. Great posture and a sense of music. Needs a coach who will take an interest.

And much thanks for these vids, Doris. They give me an idea of what to expect this season.

Ryan Bradley's excellent adventure with his Western Movies LP

http://www.youtube.com/v/odMp1eFcRdc

You have to understand that the audience was going crazy for the whole thing, the good the bad the ugly.

On the good side, Ryan landed his 3A, which he had been struggling with at morning practice. And he landed a 3/2/2 combo in the midst of the huge corner puddle. Ryan is one of the few guys who can do a butt spin and come out of it in a way that looks attractive. Check out his final spin.

Unfortunately, the war with the puddle was not successful. Ryans 4t3t is planned right in the middle of the biggest puddle. He pulled back, took off early, and popped to a triple toe at the beginning of the program. Later he had the guts to do a 3/2/2 in the middle of the puddle. However, toward the end, he and the Lone Ranger fell into the puddle, blowing a f/w sequence for no points, in all likelihood, and finished the program soaking wet.

It may be blatantly crowd pleasing, but I don't care, and the program was wildly appreciated by the audience. To nay sayers, who say that this is too much of an exhibition program, I direct you to the following song, which I think Ryan should use for an exhibition:

I Ain't Never Had Too Much Fun by Trace Adkins

http://www.lyricsandsongs.com/song/591971.html

Blue lights flashing in my rear view;
The sheriff said, "Boy, I should have known it was you.
You got 14 people in the back of this truck.
I warned you twice and now I'm writing you up."
I said, "Officer what have I done?"
He smiled and said, "Boy, you're having too much fun."

Too much fun? What's that mean?
It's like too much money; there's no such thing.
It's like a girl too pretty, with too much class,
Being too lucky, a car too fast.
No matter what they say I've done, well I ain't never had too much fun.

Two more LP's.

Shaun Rogers LP- there is some shaking of the focus in the final f/w sequence because the crowd was going wild and the bleachers were bouncing.

Jeremy Abbott LP- this program will be better later in the year, for sure.

Interesting juxtaposition of short and long longs. Both, however, cover the ice with their special styles. Most notably, both have excellent posture. and both have some serous practice ahead of them. We should be seeeing great programs by Canadian and US Nats.

Hopefully you will get to see them. Evora/Ludwig were beautiful. The throws were huge . Hand down on throw 3lutz, but really impressive. For so early, they were very clean. I just loved them! I am partial to that Nutcracker music!!!!

Alexei's LP is like her SP last season, similar music, costume, and style. Her SP is like her LP last season. I liked her SP better last year, precisely because of the rhythm, but this year, I don't like the LP as much. I think she has better extension, flow, and musicality in her SP right now. But maybe that's just a matter of its being so early in the season and she hasn't had as much to refine the LP. The quality of skating, likes spins and transitions were better in her '08 national's than this weekend. Probably she's been concentrating on the jumps over the summer, as well as learning the new programs. It's amazing how much height she gets on her toe jumps even though she doesn't bend and reach back a whole lot on take-off.

She wore a red & yellow costume for her SP last year, and it looked gorgeous on her! I don't like her yellow costume as much this year, maybe because it's a ligher shade of yellow, and blended with black instead of red.

A bit belatedly, I want to say that I agree with all the other posters who are impressed by Ashley's new found sense of delicacy, serenity, and lyricality. She said in an interview that her choreographer told her to think about her boyfriend when she skates, so maybe that's what made the difference!

Importan Question:): Should blondes wear yetllow?

IMO, very few blondes can carry off yellow in an ice rink, especially light or pale yellow. Rink lighting and low contrast work against them, too much blending, I think. Thankfully, great skating, however, can overcome many costuming blunders. :) JW

I don't think that there are many people at all that can carry off wearing yellow! I personally have been lusting after one particular skating dress that is the most beautiful, buttery shade of yellow, but I look truly awful in yellow. *sob* I don't think Alexe looks all that bad in her yellow dress, but she's lovelier in that green one for her SP.

Love Gilles Free Program.

Very different and engaging music (what a relief from all the classics that the world top skaters are skating to.)

I kinda like the yellow actually! The program has that Surya Bonaly quality to it! I like it!

I can remember when his showmanship/fun programs were all anyone could talk about on another skating board that I loved being on (anyone remember Skate Forums 'back in the day'?) and I'd never seen him and I wish I could have. I love that he's not super serious and EMO... he has fun and lets teh crowd get involved. I love it. It really looks like he loves being out there.

Totally OT but Trace Adkins is one of the big names coming and performing at the AK State Fair this year

Sounds like Rachael certainly didn't have "the meet of her life" but given her participation in that student/medicine program in Boston just before, I think it's terrific that she (with her parents' support obviously) is seeking a balance with her skating and education. Am certain she'll be peaked and primed in time for the "real shows" this fall on the Grand Prix series.

Rachael was distinctly NOT pleased with her FS performance at Liberty. She is a very determined young lady, and you can be sure she will perform it very well indeed at Skate America. And considering that it was the first time she performed it, and she had been off the ice for a fairly long period (for the class) right before Liberty) her performance wasn't all that bad anyway.

Here's the final list of all the vids I have up on youtube from Liberty. New ones are bolded. Brandon Mroz's are in red. I will only be leaving these up for a limited time. Brandon didn't skate well, and I doubt he would like these on youtube for a protracted period of time:
